Trump is an "entertainer"...his show is considered "entertainment"...not news. Olbermann worked in the news division where his political leanings did cause conflict with others. It was not just this...he's a tough person to work with (especially if you're an authority figure) and his depature was over personal differences rather than political.
Trump's game started as a PR stunt to get attention for his show...the fact that he can draw eyeballs and thus revenues to the network is all that matters. The moment he become a liability, he'll be gone, too.
