12. Oh, it's just gonna get "better and better".
And by "better", I mean more 2x4s flying into your head from tornadoes or floods sweeping you away or hurricanes battering the town and then sweeping you away. But hey, Global warming is just a hoax right? *sigh*

5. Is this normal?
I don't remember seeing this kind of weather for so many states. I'll have to do some weather research.

24. When I was a kid growing up in N GA, which is basically the same
as where I live now in TN - no. Summer thunderstorms yes, tornadoes, whether in the spring or in November - NO.

What's happening today is an unusual nightmare.

6. That Gore guy was right! And, it's just going to get worse and worse.
We must stop spewing CO2. We must make government better and BIGGER to deal with these disasters, health threats, food shortage, etc. Things will get worse for a time even if we wise up today but we CAN SURVIVE this if we WORK TOGETHER! Live together or die alone!

11. We haven't even cleaned up all the damage from the last tornados.
The trees have been moved off rooftops and cut up into piles, but that's about it. Still a lot of homes with those blue condemned tags next to the doors.

19. though those in the northwest have nothing to complain about ,
in comparison to the terrible storms baring down on the eastern half of the country, we are about to break a record for the coldest april on record here. the average temperature in the puget sound this month will be something below 51 degrees since that is the old record.

23. Tell me about it. The first hit here at 9:30 this morning. I've
Edited on Wed Apr-27-11 09:20 PM by tnlefty
been through some nasty storms before, the occasional tornado warning that amounted to making the kids sleep downstairs. We talked about the 'safe place', a hallway bath, but we'd never used it. The cat and I were in it around 9:30 this morning. It's been warning after warning with howling winds, hail, driving rains all day and I have a new tornado warning.

The damage reports I've seen on local news are bad, but my husband called home about an hour ago to check on us as another bit of nasty had just passed over us and he told me that 2 men who work for him have lost their homes in S Bradley County, TN. One learned about his when he was out to set new utility poles to restore power in the area.

The threat won't be done for us until after midnight. I'm exhausted and it still sounds like someone is bowling in the sky.

Although I did see on the local news that county officials (now majority republican, hate the feds. numbnuts) are going to request federal help. I'll have fun with that bit of bullshit, no doubt, although my heart breaks for the suckers who vote for republicans around here.
