Anyone else sick of the Obama Admin text spamming them? |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-31-10 02:10 PM by intheflow
God, when I gave them my phone number I didn't know they were going to spam me with texts wishing me Happy New Year and other random bullshit texts through the year. As if Obama himself is sending the texts or even knows about them. :eyes:
On edit: Thanks to DUer Bryan for instructing me how to stop the texts. Thanks also for everyone else who chimed in! :hi:

Reminds me that we won in 2008 and McCain and Palin are not in the office.

But there's also the daily reminder called life that brings those same truths home. I know Obama won. I read the news which mentions him every day. I know what his policies and positions are, and how he acts on them. And that's all I really need to hear about/from the administration.
I don't mind the texts asking me to support legislation, but just wishing me happy holidays... seems like there could be a better use of some aide's time.

2. No, I get lots of emails and I enjoy reading them without the DU anti-Obama slant. |

They have substance. Texts are just... vapid.

7. I'd love to be enlightened on how to do that. |

A text back at them generates a canned message about how they appreciate my feedback. :eyes:

Just stop the text messages if you don't want them. No BFD.

12. What number did you text to? |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-31-10 02:03 PM by NYC Liberal
It should be 62262, which may not be the same as the one sending out the texts (if you just replied).

Bryan (above) gave me the info I needed. Texts are allegedly now stopped - ironically confirmed by text from the Obama people. :)
Edited for my legendary typo skills.
