Two things that intimidates them about President Obama,
1, He's BLACK, can't be having a black man as President and if by chance or crook, which neither was the case, you do wind up with a Black Man as President for gawds sake don't do anything that will make or let him look good cause it might lead to us electing another off white or, heaven forbid, a woman President. Fuck'm, fuck'm all, in my circle I'm culling the bagger thinking ones. I voted for President Obama because I seen in him a different politician than I've seen before, still see that too, btw. I seen a man who was sincere in providing the leadership that it will take to get us out of this wilderness and giant hole the :puke: have left us in. Trouble is no one wanted to get out there and do what it takes to make it happen. We let the tea baggers control the town halls which was orginally designed to gain information about going forward. We should have, each of us, been right up there in the teabaggers faces when they wouldn't allow discussion until we ran their sorry asses off but no we didn't we sit here and typed away at the computer or like me working on home projects instead. The man told us we and he meant WE, you and I, were the change we needed and only through us could we make those changes. What did we do we didn't vote the last election and look what thats got us, stupid and stupider.

Anyways I didn't mean this to be a charge against you KT because of all the people here its you I seek out and trust and hang on every word you type,

I do realize that a lot of people here did vote and did go to the town halls and did go to the streets and I apologize to you but what I'm getting at is collectively we must do this, those of us who hasn't done those things.

Maddie...you've always been one of my favorites here as well. I do a lot of lurking these days and always follow where you are at around here. You have more guts and tolerance than I do.

Definitely no offense taken and I wholeheartedly agree with all the antipathy shown to this President. I have had my moments of disagreement and doubt with aspects of how he's done his job but I don't regret voting for him or that he's doing the best in a very byzantine system. If he does nothing, he's incompetent. If he does something that you don't like, he's either a corportist or DLC or some other invective. There's little room to satisfy anyone yet a majority. So be it...I'm grateful we have his intelligence and self-awareness at the helm compared to the alternatives. Call me a "cheerleader" or whatever, but I just try to call it as I see it.

The problem I've seen with Democrats...especially around this place...is trying to organize or coordinate is like herding cats. While we agree on many core principals, no two people have the same priorities and when one gets placed ahead of the other then there's all sorts of angst..."being thrown under the bus" or having their votes taken for granted. It's endemic of a self-centered country...on ALL sides...that has led to the vast polarization.

Frustrating...damn right it is...but it is what it is. All I can do is my little bits here and there and try to learn and keep an open mind. I know you're the same way as well.

Hope you didn't get hit bad...been a cold/wet spring up north but the leaves have started to bud...

so if the price of gas is due to a lack of drilling in the Gulf (which it isn't) then it is a lack of permits being issued during the Bush administration that is causing the current price spike.

The short moratorium on deep sea wells after the BP disaster can't possibly have anything to do with it.
