Um.. 'cept maybe church. But I do remember standing on the church steps, with the big doors open, smoking, while listening. We used to smoke in supermarkets. Hospitals. Yeesh. Everywhere. Not the good old days. I guess we all stank back then.

Back when my mom had her 1st heart attack, I actually sat on her hospital bed and smoked. The nurse would come in to do some chart work and scold me not to allow her to have one. When she left, my mother would twist my arm for a drag. It wasn't an isolated act of horrible negligence then, even the doctor would come in and share the ashtray. Unfortunately, she only had one more attack ahead.
I remember my mother, from whom I learned Democratic politics and adopted my liberal values, when they passed the nation's first ban that meant she could no longer smoke in the Sears elevator while she rode to the second floor. My mother was livid, and berated everyone from our congressman to "that president who killed Kennedy".
I was in grade school back then, and I naively asked why she was so upset that she wasn't allowed to smoke during the mere 15 seconds it took for the elevator operator to take us up. I still have vivid memory to this day how she looked down at me, a stern frown on her face as she clutched my hand in housewares, and said "because they're just trying to get their foot in the door".
Those prophetic words, and the loving memories of my mother herself, have stayed with me since.

51. "Poppycock" with the knuckle dragger and his magnifying glass |
|
Personifies every Freeper banging a keyboard in his mom's basement this week.
They've been backslapping each other for two days about pixel size and shadows, claiming they've cracked the forgery without considering that a PDF is so reliable a copy that it is the only form that the IRS will accept as a printed copy. They actually believe that Obama would try to pass off a clumsy fake instead of continuing refusal to release the form.
They have at once, and in the same thread, claimed that "Odumba"-as they're fond of referring to him-is too stupid to enter an Ivy League College or recite a speech without a teleprompter, yet he has the DNA of a Batman supervillian that allowed him to carry out the biggest political scam in our nation's history. I'd think they'd be torn on that, but it meshes perfectly with their perception of right wing racist reality.
At one point, in his moment of lucidity, one freeper explained in technical terms how PDF files are mechanically scanned to cause the "irregularities" the original poster claimed as proof of deception. The post's author replied that he'd "proven it was a forgery beyond doubt and the technowizzard had no choice but to accept his findings".
Now they're shopping a media source to trumpet their claims from the rooftops, but beyond World Nut Daily, I don't think they'll find any takers. Damn lib'ral media. LOL
