Good news - and a special May Day appeal

Three months ago LabourStart launched a major online campaign to secure the release of jailed Bangladeshi garment workers' leader Moshrefa Mishu (pictured above).
Nearly 5,000 of you sent off messages of protest - and today we have learned that Mishu is no longer in police custody.
Your efforts and those of the brave garment workers of Bangladesh have paid off - what a wonderful May Day gift for Mishu and her family.

Today I'm writing to ask for your help again - for a different kind of help.

Every May Day we launch an appeal for donations -- this is how we fund projects like our online campaigns and our news in more than two dozen languages.

It's how we fund our Global Solidarity Conferences, the next one of which will take place in Istanbul on 18-20 November 2011.
Remember, we don't get any money from corporations and governments.
So we're counting on each and every one of you to give you what you can, however small.

Please take a moment and give generously - and ask your union to do the same: http://www.labourstart.org/1may2011/

Thank you!

Eric Lee
