14. well frum did. Link:

Even for the small band that sustained the phony controversy until now, the birth certificate so-called issue ends today.

Any last lingering doubts that maybe, perhaps, a pregnant Stanley Ann Dunham in the summer of 1961 boarded a propeller plane from Honolulu to Los Angeles, then from Los Angeles to New York City, then from New York City to Gander, then from Gander to London, then from London to Nairobi – and then repeated the trip backward a few weeks later – all so that her baby could acquire Kenyan nationality – those doubts are definitively squelched, as they should have been three years ago.

Now the more haunting question: How did this poisonous and not very subtly racist allegation get such a grip on our conservative movement and our Republican party?

7. Here is the thing.
When I started posting, they took my posts, and used parts of them to make me look racist by reposting them elsewhere.

I could defend my lack of racism easily, but here is my point.

They took the good stuff I wrote and tried to make it seem racist, and even called me racist, and I am far from racist, although know the delusions that get people of many races to get that way.

I even had a visit at bar from someone that thought I was racist, and a few other misconceptions.

So I have been a bit more skeptical of organized astroturfing that uses racism.

Same with the many other things said about people, even to the point of being careful when commenting on the right side, since many may be being smeared also.

I do agree there are many with racial attitudes that don't understand why they don't like President Obama, but I also know there are people that smear anyone that points out the corruption in the private sector, military, or government.

There are many smears they use, racism is just one of them.

Why would you assume that?

And be honest, there are multiple Internets, I heard Bush say it.

8. I have a quote for you from MLK
"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. "

11. It's the responsibility of white people to recognize and call out racism by other white people.
It's bad enough for people victimized by it--they should not be doubly victimized by having to convince racists they're wrong and try to stop them.

We've all been exposed to it long enough to be able to see it most of the time and when white people (like me) are silent, it implies approval of the bad behavior.

Same for all other isms and biases--e.g., sexism, homophobia.

15. Reality is that we all have a bias here or there
but the best thing to do, IMHO, is to admit to it.
