Message to Royal Wedding fans.
As nerdy fan of violent zombie movies and crazy noise bands, I want to tell you to not worry about what other people think of the media you consume.

Just consume and enjoy. No matter what media you consume, someone won't like it, and will think you are silly for liking it.

Enjoy your Royal nerd fest, I'm off to school!

:hi:

1. If it was kept to entertainment TV I could understand fully.
It is entertainment for some.

I'm just sick of it being the top "news" item for the last 2 fucking weeks.

+1000.

These same people who lap this up and consider it 'news' are the first ones to bash 'American Idiot' and 'Dancing with the has-beens' even though it's all falls into the same category.

It's all crap.

3. That is how I feel about sports. Sports is always on the news,
but Dungeons and Dragons hasn't been in the news since the Satanism scare in the 1980's.

At least the wedding will go away in a while, sports will be in the news for longer than I will be alive.

7. I just bought a new (2010) zombie anthology named The New Dead.
It has a story by Max Brooks, but I have not read that one yet. I have only read the first three stories so far because I usually only read what my professors tell me to read. I have a lot less personal reading time since I started going back to school.

The stories are pretty interesting so far. Different takes on the genre.

19. I'll have to look for that one, sounds good...
I just finished the 2nd book of Z A Recht's Morningstar series, and was going to go hunting for the 3rd when I learned that he had died before finishing it. Luckily, I also learned that the final book is being ghost-written and should be out around Christmas. I really like the way that Recht was able to include both slow-moving Romero type zombies as well as fast-runnning 28 Days Later types.

Fun stuff :hi:

5. I have over 300 hours of live grateful dead soundboards on my hard drive
I don't give a shit if people like the stuff I like. It's my opinion that matters, to me.

Same thing with folks re: The Royal Wedding. Knock yourselves out, Lads! :hi:

9. I WISH every news station was running endless ZOMBIE movies today!!!!
Today's royal wedding coverage was just like a zombie movie, except that these zombies didn't eat flesh, they dressed better, and all of the female zombies wore amazing hats.

14. I can't honestly reccommend it as particularly well written but its definitely different
A friend of mine absolutely loved it but he had never heard of "Pride and Prejudice" so he really wasn't much of a reader. Considering the price of books, I'd suggest the library if you ever get the urge.

18. I didn't watch but I read through the threads and really enjoyed 'em.
When I saw the hats and clothes I could identify who was being talked about.

I'm going to watch "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" for like the 150th time now. I'm glad you enjoyed it (guiltlessly!).
