I'll admit I'm disappointed in a large number of them that I actually enjoy.

(On edit: A number of them aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack so on them I really wasn't surprised.)

3. They overlooked...
Gary Sinise. Quite an oversight. I enjoy watching his work as
Mack on CSI NY.

10. "Lieutenant Dan" is a teabagger? KInda makes sense, he was a pretty angry guy.

23. George Carlin said it best
I'm paraphrasing, I don't have the exact quote. But basically he said Hollywood types pretend to be liberal and support various and sundry causes, but at their core they are most interested in making money, and that's the most conservative activity of all. So at heart they're really conservatives.

5. The Coal Miner's Daughter... say it isn't so!!
As I scrolled through all I could say to most of these ding-dongs was "Duh, usual suspect", but when I saw Loretta Lynn I wanted to cry.

How in holy hell can that woman be a Rethug??!! She really was a coal miner's daughter and grew up poor as a church mouse. I was ALWAYS sure she was a democrat. Oh waaahhh!!:argh:

13. Appalachia has been largely Republican since the Civil War
which is still a hell of a long time to hold a grudge, probably reflecting the region's strong Celtic heritage. That country singers with roots there are registered GOP is no surprise. That doesn't mean they've voted that way since the party went crazy, although most do.

There really weren't any surprises on that list. Most of them are really rather conventional thinkers and non innovative talents.

As long as we're tossing around authoritarian admonitions, don't let this fact escape your notice.

9. Clint Eastwood is more libertarian than RETHUG
and old school at that-- I cut him a bit of slack. Gloria Estefan actually campaigned for Obama, so despite her conservative Cuban roots, I think she is more an independent.

The rest are a bunch of "has beens" in terms of talent or (never beens) in some cases. No loss.

12. I've taught myself to overlook the actors political leanings
It stung a little at first to find out that Kelsey Grammar is a repug when he did that stupid "An American Carol" movie (Fraser is one of my favorite shows), but I just sort of shove it to the back of my mind.

Really diverse group there that defies a lot of stereotypes about the GOOP. :sarcasm:

20. Why do people feel compelled to construct such lists?
Do they feel inadequate because so many celebrities are NOT republicans? They reek of some sort of "Look! We are just as good as you" desperation.
