So who put out the memo for those fucking ugly hats at the Royal wedding?
I'm thinking, what? Did the costume designer for Alice in Wonderland decide to branch out and make hats?

Or, did the ridiculous wealthy say, "let's spend a frivolous thousand buying a fucking ugly hat to show the people how untouched we are by the economical disaster we helped create?"

And if there was a contest for the most fucking ugly hat at the Royal wedding, who won?

1. They were trying to beat out Kentucky; the Derby is next weekend
I think they were saying, "Hey Kentucky! We upped our standards for dopey hats, now up yours!"

20. Actually
I thought they were pretty girls but their outfits were ugly and their hats were hideous. I can't imagine why the Royal family let them go dressed like that. A professional stylist could have picked something much more flattering and appropriate.

13. One trend may have started due to the lack of money, but the other
can only be explained as poor taste. I give wiggle room to the Kentucky Derby, but a ROYAL wedding?

Hats like that seem to be a British thing, perhaps for protection from the searing English sun.
