A question about the line of succession for the British Crown.
And no I didnt watch the wedding. I am having a disagreement about the line of succession. Of course Prince Charles is the heir apparent. However, should he die before becoming king, who would be the heir apparent? I cant find this on the internetz because of my ineptness. Can someone give me a good link?

11. I understand that if Charles becomes king then William is next. But my question is, what if
Charles dies before his mother. Then who is next in line? I think it would be Andrew.

13. Once Charles had kids, that moved Andrew down the line.
If Charles had no children, then Andrew would be next but the line continues to the eldest's children should the eldest die before taking the throne.

3. Right now the line is
Charles, William, Harry. If William and Catherine have a baby boy it becomes Charles, William, Baby Boy, Harry.

10. Even if Catherine and William have six

5. Here is the correct line of succession
and yeah I like the Royals:)

Charles-William-Harry-Andrew-Beatrice-Eugenie

It's laid out perfectly in Lion King.;)

Why do you think Scar was trying to kill Simba?:)

15. The line of succession stays the same
After Charles comes William.

The line of succession started the day William was born. If Charles dropped dead of a heart attack that day, the infant William would still be the next in line to the throne.

Pretty much once Charles had a son, the throne was unattainable for Andrew.

14. I have a question related to this, but I didn't want to start a new thread.
Well two actually. 1. If the crown prince were to try and marry a non-English citizen would he have to give up the throne? 2. This is more historical, was there a specific act that stripped the throne of power or did it just evolve over time. I heard somewhere that the Parliament technically rules by the grace of the throne and if the monarch refused to open Parliament, England would revert to a full monarchy.

16. Answer to Question #1 is no.
It used to be common in the earlier times for the Queens to come from other Royal families from other countries. In fact, Eleanor of Aquitaine was actually Queen of France AND Queen of England through marriages to Louis VI and Henry II respectively.

As to your second question...Charles II did dissolve Parliament. If you want to read more about the use of The Royal Prerogative, here is a pretty good info site.

17. I assume you mean non-British, not non-English.
Queen Elizabeth's mom was a Scot. And I believe the Royals can marry anyone they want; after all, their own family was essentially German until Charles married Diana.
