1. A lot of people are still missing, especially in Alabama
so that already sad number is going to go up.

In the meantime, another strong storm is coming through here (NM) over the next 2 days, so the early part of next week is likely to be bad, too.

Some people just can't catch a break no matter how they need and deserve one.

(CNN) -- With the official state death toll now at 340, the April 27-28 tornado outbreak is the second-deadliest single day for tornadoes since record keeping began, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.
The outbreak is also on record as experiencing the most number of tornadoes in a single day.
The agency used its records and historical research -- the latter dating back to 1680, it said.
According to the federal agency:

FATALITIES
-- The deadliest single day for tornadoes was on March 18, 1925, with 747 fatalities across seven states.
-- As of early Saturday morning, the April 27-28, 2011, outbreak has seen 340 fatalities across six states.
-- The third deadliest tornado outbreak was on March 21, 1932, when 332 people died.

SEVERITY
-- The agency estimates that on April 27-28,2011, there were 211 tornadoes.
-- The largest previous number of tornadoes on record in one event took place from April 3-4, 1974, with 148 tornadoes.
