Weird how it makes you feel guilty |

to think "I am glad none of my folks got hurt", when there were others close by who did.
Most of my relatives live in an area of the south that was hit pretty hard by the tornados. My dad got pretty damn lucky. He was driving down the road when the storms hit, and a tree crashed in front of him. He wanted to back away and a tree crashed behind him. He got out of the car and started running until he reached the house of a stranger who gave him shelter. His house wasn't damaged severely. A tree fell on the garage and the back window of a car was knocked out, power is out in the entire area, but that's pretty much it. My dad says though, the entire region looks like a war zone.
All of my relatives are safe. We got lucky. Others were not so lucky :(

1. A paradox- we're all wired for self survival but we all have the capacity for empathy. |

2. Glad to hear your family is safe, Howard. We are still waiting to hear from ours, though |
