Message from the Sanders supporters

I felt this song captures the appropriate attitude we should take towards Hillary and the new Democratic establishment.

Democratic Party Stands to Lose Youth Vote

This should be a dramatic wake up call that we need dramatic re-organization and a new emphasis on populist policies and to fully embrace issues like cannabis legalization and even drug decriminalization.

http://iop.harvard.edu/likely-millennial-voters-grabs-upcoming-midterm-elections-harvard-youth-poll-finds

"While more 18- to 29- year-olds (50%-43%) surveyed in the IOP’s fall 2014 poll would prefer that Congress be controlled by Democrats instead of Republicans, the numbers improve dramatically for the GOP when only young people who say they will “definitely vote” are studied. Among these likely voters, the IOP’s latest poll shows the preference shifting, with slightly more than half (51%) preferring a Republican-run Congress and 47 percent wanting Democrats to be in charge – a significant change from the IOP’s last midterm election poll in the fall of 2010 when Democratic control was preferred among likely voters 55 percent to 43 percent"

The youth vote is NOT guaranteed to be Democratic and as it stands the Democratic party has squandered their initial advantage in this area. Orthodoxy is not working and the more people cling to it the more the party will find itself irrelevant.

So if the Democrats lose the senate.

So if the Democrats lose the senate and also eventually the presidency, what resistance will be left exactly in the Democratic party? So many people that would stir the population to kick the Republicans out of office have been thrown under the bus that it is doubtful they would come to the party's aid. To make matters worse, the left would be blamed so hard and so viciously attacked that it may constitute a permanent break in the party.

What does everyone think? This constant blaming of the left and throwing under the bus of every left figure who criticizes Obama is bound to cause significant damage in such a scenario, right? Where would the party even be after that kind of rout?

(Please nobody spam this thread with "GOTV!" or "Thats why we need to VOTE!". It is already understood and is merely meaningless noise at this point.)

Account from Ebola survivor Nancy Writebol

http://news.sciencemag.org/africa/2014/10/ebola-survivor-ii-nancy-writebol-we-just-dont-even-have-clue-what-happened?rss=1

Q: Any idea how you became infected?

N.W.: I don’t know how I became infected and how I contracted it. There are some thoughts about how I might have gotten it. Nobody is really sure, least of all me. I never felt like I was unsafe and I never felt like I walked into a situation where I was being exposed. I was on the low-risk side of things. I never was in the crisis or the Ebola center. I was always on the outside. I made sure doctors and nurses were dressed properly before they went in, and I decontaminated them before they went out. We kept a close check on each other about whether people felt safe.

We had an employee who was doing the same job that I was doing. He got sick and I didn’t know he was sick. He didn’t tell anybody. He actually thought he had typhoid. The day that I started having symptoms, at least a fever, was the last day I saw him. He did have Ebola. He did not survive.

I never remember touching him, although it’s possible he could have picked up a sprayer to decontaminate someone, and I could have picked up the sprayer. Or we touched the same thing. I never touched him.

Q: You were educated about Ebola transmission?

N.W.: Oh my goodness, yes.

Q: Did you have sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE)?

N.W.: Yes, we did. It was my responsibility to make sure they were dressed properly in PPEs before they ever went into the isolation. I didn’t want any of our doctors or nurses getting infected. I mean, I saw people dying of Ebola. We had PPEs and followed every single protocol that [Doctors Without Borders (MSF)] had in their manual—and we had been trained by MSF.

She could be mistaken or downplaying her contact, but the fact she was not directly treating Ebola victims is somewhat disturbing to me.

Regarding prominent leftists

Does anyone have a list of leftists that the doctrinaire dems haven't thrown under the bus for slights against Obama (real or perceived)? It is getting hard to keep track of.

Messaging Service Verifies Alleged Audio Recording Of Michael Brown Shooting

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/glide-authenticates-alleged-michael-brown-audio

"The company that runs the video messaging service that purportedly captured audio of the Michael Brown shooting has confirmed the authenticity of the recording.

The audio of the shooting incident, which occurred in Ferguson, Mo., on August 9, was reportedly recorded unknowingly by a nearby man who was using the messaging service Glide. Only later, after the shooting became an international story, did the man realize he had captured the audio of what sounded like gunshots. But questions remained about whether the recording itself was authentic. CNN first aired the recording on Monday."

The messaging service also confirmed that the audio recording was real:

Certainly a game changer in the case, I think.

Police Murder Man With Toy Gun in Wal-Mart.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/08/26/video-shows-police-shot-ohio-man-on-sight-as-he-leaned-on-toy-gun-in-walmart-attorney-says/

"Surveillance video shows an Ohio man talking on a cell phone, leaning on a toy gun, and facing away from officers moments before police shot and killed him in a Walmart store, according to an attorney for the man’s family.

John Crawford III died Aug. 5 after police were called to Walmart in Beavercreek, near Dayton, by another shopper who reported a man carrying what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle.

The 22-year-old Crawford was instead carrying an unpackaged MK-177 (.177 caliber) BB/pellet rifle he picked up in the store’s toy department.

Police claim Crawford ignored their commands to drop the weapon, and the former Marine who called in the report and witnessed the shooting said Crawford “looked like he was going to go violently.”

But attorney Michael Wright said surveillance video from the incident, which Ohio’s attorney general allowed him to watch with Crawford’s family, contradicted those accounts.

“John was doing nothing wrong in Walmart, nothing more, nothing less than shopping,” Wright said.

The attorney said surveillance video showed Crawford facing away from officers, talking on the phone, and leaning on the pellet gun like a cane when he was “shot on sight” in a “militaristic” response by police."

Just throwing more evidence for America's out of control police departments on the pile.

Complaint Against Israel Filed at ICC

http://www.france24.com/en/20140725-israel-icc-war-crimes-gaza-complaint-filed/

"A French lawyer said on Friday that he had filed a complaint on behalf of the Palestinian justice minister at the International Criminal Court (ICC), accusing Israel’s military of having carried out “war crimes” in the Gaza Strip.

More than 800 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s offensive in Gaza, launched on July 8 in response to Hamas militants firing rockets into the Jewish state.

The complaint targets “war crimes committed by the Israeli army in June and July 2014 in Palestine” in the context of the operation known as Protective Edge, Gilles Devers told reporters.

“Israel, the occupying power, is carrying out a military operation which in principle and form violates the basis of international law,” he said. “Every day new crimes are committed and over 80 percent of the victims are civilians. Children, women, hospitals, UN schools... the Israeli soldiers respect nothing.

“This is a military attack against the Palestinian population.”

The Israeli offensive has left more than 5,200 Palestinians injured, according to emergency services in Gaza, and 33 Israeli soldiers and two civilians have died, too.

The Palestinian Authority, which has non-member observer state status at the United Nations, has not yet signed up to the Hague-based ICC, due to what Devers said were “political” quarrels over the Palestinians’ status.

But according to Devers, the complaint is still valid.

The UN Human Rights Council is launching a probe into Israel’s offensive in Gaza, with rights chief Navi Pillay saying the Jewish state’s military actions could amount to war crimes."
