This needs to be made into a meme

He's saying that Trump is a sideshow freak. A geek that people stare at because they cant look away, not because there is anything worthwhile intelligent or even interesting about him.

The first thing I thought about was "The Jar" by Ray Bradbury. It's a great story. A man goes to a sideshow and becomes captivated by a jar that has something grotesque floating in it. It may be a deformed fetus. It may be an animal. Everyone sees something different in it. He buys it for its entertainment value in the hopes it will get him attention and respect.

It does do that. But it also reminds the buyer and viewers of horrible and tragic elements of their life, of twisted beliefs and fears. It even inspires the buyer to do something terrible to keep it''s cynical origin a secret.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

That's the name of the Netflix docudrama on Ted Bundy. It is told largely through the perspective of his wife who believed in him or tried to believe in him right up to his execution, even though it was making her almost psychotically miserable. It's amazing how much Bundy reminds me of a young Trump with the ease he lies, uses and betrays people around him especially those who trust him the most. And especially how he could continue to lie, even in the face of overwhelming evidence against him.

The media was obsessed with Bundy. They were fascinated by his boastful confidence man charm, his assurances of innocence in the face of often overwhelming evidence linking him to unbelievably heinous crimes against dozens of women. But the media wasn't supporting him. Bundy, without the benefit of 24/7 hate radio singing his praises and a massive news network trumpeting his greatness and repeating his lies, still had a large fan club enchanted by him. There were many men and women who believed his claims of innocence and victimhood and were ready to defend him or be seduced by him, no matter what he did.

There were lots of people though that immediately saw what a wicked, evil and vile human being he was. The movie's title was a quote from the judge who sentenced him to death but who also said he bore him no ill will and bemoaned the waste Bundy had made of his life. I didn't get that. I thought of the lives he had ended, ruined, shattered without a glimmer of remorse. I remember at the time, trying to be a good hippie liberal and opposing the death penalty..... until Ted Bundy came along. But I also remember thinking that maybe he didn't kill all those young women because I could not conceive how one person could be that evil. I know better now.

I think Trump is that evil. I remember despising him the first time I ever saw him speak on TV. I saw a totally shallow, arrogant prick who thought he was better than everyone else and whose evil smarm was especially directed towards women. I remember wondering how anyone could watch him on television and not see that he was utterly untrustworthy and capable of almost anything.

I still believe there is almost nothing he hasn't done or wouldn't do to satisfy his own desires, protect himself or advance his own interests. Start WW3? Yes. If his generals let him. Destroy the environment? In a heart beat. Start a second American Civil War? Without a doubt. Raping children? Absolutely. And for some reason there are millions of Americans who will let him do those terrible things or even help him do them. That is the evil force driving Trump along. And that scares me far more than he does.

What will he do?

Putin made him bark like a dog and go through an oligarch spanking machine. What's left?....................... I'VE GOT IT!! In honor of denuclearization Trump will hang by an atomic wedgie on the lead float in the next military parade.

The Walrus and the Carpenter - Lewis Carroll

Lewis Carroll had these guys pegged. Even penned a whole poem about Trump / Pence and the little oysters who follow them.

The Walrus and the Carpenter

By Lewis Carroll
"The sun was shining on the sea,
Shining with all his might:
He did his very best to make
The billows smooth and bright —
And this was odd, because it was
The middle of the night.

The moon was shining sulkily,
Because she thought the sun
Had got no business to be there
After the day was done —
"It's very rude of him," she said,
"To come and spoil the fun."

The sea was wet as wet could be,
The sands were dry as dry.
You could not see a cloud, because
No cloud was in the sky:
No birds were flying overhead —
There were no birds to fly.

The Walrus and the Carpenter
Were walking close at hand;
They wept like anything to see
Such quantities of sand:
If this were only cleared away,'
They said, it would be grand!'

If seven maids with seven mops
Swept it for half a year,
Do you suppose,' the Walrus said,
That they could get it clear?'
I doubt it,' said the Carpenter,
And shed a bitter tear.

O Oysters, come and walk with us!'
The Walrus did beseech.
A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk,
Along the briny beach:
We cannot do with more than four,
To give a hand to each.'

The eldest Oyster looked at him,
But never a word he said:
The eldest Oyster winked his eye,
And shook his heavy head —
Meaning to say he did not choose
To leave the oyster-bed.

But four young Oysters hurried up,
All eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shoes were clean and neat —
And this was odd, because, you know,
They hadn't any feet.

Four other Oysters followed them,
And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more —
All hopping through the frothy waves,
And scrambling to the shore.

The Walrus and the Carpenter
Walked on a mile or so,
And then they rested on a rock
Conveniently low:
And all the little Oysters stood
And waited in a row.

The time has come,' the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings.'

But wait a bit,' the Oysters cried,
Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!'
No hurry!' said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.

A loaf of bread,' the Walrus said,
Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed —
Now if you're ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed.'

But not on us!' the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!'
The night is fine,' the Walrus said.
Do you admire the view?

It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!'
The Carpenter said nothing but
Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf —
I've had to ask you twice!'

It seems a shame,' the Walrus said,
To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!'
The Carpenter said nothing but
The butter's spread too thick!'

I weep for you,' the Walrus said:
I deeply sympathize.'
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

O Oysters,' said the Carpenter,
You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none —
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one."

Do we really think that a woman would never make up a charge of sexual abuse or assault?

Talk to some family and divorce lawyers sometime. Ask them if it happens. Do we think there are no conservative women who would grossly exaggerate an ambiguous or even non existent event to bring down a liberal politician if they were promised financial support and legal funding by anonymous Republican donors? Or if they were just hungry for a little attention? Because they know they will be worshipped by Trump zombies.

Those things happen and people will lie for money and attention. And the fucking Republicans are not above promoting it. Ask Bill Clinton. While I believe he was a total cad to women, I also believe his accusers were well compensated and at least some of them were making it up, exaggerating or leaving out key details.

I am sick of this self immolation by the Democratic party. These allegations on Franken don't have a tenth of the odiousness of Moore and Trump's behavior and they seem to be almost forgotten in the urgency to "purify" our party. Franken may be guilty but I am doubting most of the stories now.

Ban me. Mute this post if you have to. But we need to emphasize what the differences between the allegations about Trump, Moore and Franken are and wait for Franken's ethics commission before we throw him to the wolves.

But of course, we won't.

This will all end very badly.

My heart breaks for you as it breaks for this country that is being pulled apart day by day. Your brother is just one of many people who are being transformed into unrecognizably cold blooded haters who are just waiting to melt into a mob. They have been steeping themselves for years in the flood of lies, innuendo and race baiting on hate radio and Fox and are beyond the reach of reason.

Heavily armed white supremacists and garden variety racists are more than ready to start taking people out if Trump would call for it. And he might. They also hate liberals and progressives almost as much as they hate minorities and immigrants. They want to and believe it is necessary to purge people like you and me from their lives and this country. Our loathing and mockery of their demented leader is felt as a unforgivable insult to them and the more we rail about him the more they hate us.

Months ago that evil Trump troll, Roger Stone predicted (nay, called for) a violent reaction to any attempt at impeachment or removal and there is no doubt that is where we are going. Every day there are paramilitary groups training in rural areas for that day when chaos and lawlessness are unleashed. They believe it is going to come from violent gangs of immigrants and the minority underclass but the real source will be them. Our DOJ has chosen to ignore this threat when it is clearly the most pressing mortal danger to our democracy.

I fear and I believe that before this is over, there will be terrible violence from the right and a great loss of life including many police officers, National Guard and US military troops called in to quell the violence. I believe the haters will fail but there is no guarantee of that.

I wish I didn't feel this way but if you listen close you can hear the threats growing bolder and louder all the time. We all need to be careful and alert and probably more of us need to be armed.

Napoleon actually did something.....

He almost conquered all of Europe on the battlefield. Trump on the other hand (if we get him out of office in time) will be viewed as a stupid, vain, blundering fool whose overt corruption, vengeful erratic behavior and constant need for attention and validation ended his reign of error. But if we wait your prediction will be true.

Trump's Real Diagnosis: Histrionic Personality Disorder

Yes, his narcissism is real and gets a lot of ink. He's probably Bipolar II also, but what his real problem is can be found in the link's below. He's a rather pure male histrionic; an attention whore carrying the nuclear football, a preening desperate aging impotent prick of a human being, who gets desperate and mean whenever he isn't the center of attention. Who the fuck wears hair like that at age 70?

If we could ignore him safely he would implode in a matter of weeks. Unfortunately if we ignore him he is likely to ignite a world war to get the focus back on him.

I've said this for years too

Abandoning the fairness Doctrine without a real fight gave us fascist radio around the clock. Fascist radio gave us Fox television, all of which has supplanted or supplemented religion as the new opiate for the masses. Withdrawal from the staggering cognitive dissonance created in that world is too painful. The only thing that can relieve it is more of the same.
