Brainstormy
Brainstormy's JournalNone of the polls we're hearing about
likely include the newest voters and definitely don't include recently registered voters.
Here is some polling data on the youth vote. It doesn't look good for Trump. I think there will be some surprises in store for the GOP.

On Writing. And on Trump.
This is SO good. https://www.salon.com/2023/08/05/you-cant-make-this-up-as-a-fictional-character/
A warning for the young
This one is a cautionary tale for my young friends so you will know what can happen:
Long ago there were entertainers called Bob Hope and Milton Berle. They were often on our little black-and-white TV sets wearing dresses, wigs and lipstick.
A dozen years later, Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis, starred in a movie wearing dresses, wigs and lipstick, as they tried to imitate Marilyn Monroe's hip-swinging, seductive walk in the movie, "Some Like It Hot."
There were more such hit tv shows and movies that came and went with gender-bending stories and stars.
And that my young friends, is how all of your grandparents became gay.

Atheists vote blue!
As the nation becomes increasingly non-religious I take great hope in the concurrent political trends. Pew research chart.

Herschel Walker's commitment to Christ
Newt Gingrich, a fellow adulterer, did actually say that Walker was "the most important Senate candidate in the country due to his deep commitment to Christ. I don't know if this is a sick joke, irony taken to a whole new level, or bona fide proof that absolutely anybody is qualified to run for office on the Republican ticket.
Cuz it's only just now July
So, except for the loss of the right to your own body, the expansion of religious authority, the discovery that gun regulations and clean air are out of the question, and dealing with the fact that treaties between the US and sovereign tribal nations are really just a joke, how is your summer going so far?
Even dumber than Trump
I swear I didn't think it was possible, but Georgia's GOP candidate Herschel Walker is one for the books. His first response to the Uvalde shooting was "What I like to do is see it and everything and stuff. Yesterday he proposed a department that can look at young men thats looking at women, thats looking at their social media ― what about doing that?
GEORGIA, don't do this!
Pew Polling on abortion
This will not be a popular decision.

Don't have the nerve to post this elsewhere
but I thought Biden's line, "faith sees best in the dark," from an otherwise great speech, was unfortunate. No argument, but that's exactly the problem with "faith."
