So who will President Clinton run against in 2020?

Can we bait them into Pence, Cruz etc or will it be someone else?

Is fear of Russia a generational issue? How do you get it to resonate with all age groups?

I have to admit, the Russia angle just doesn't resonate with me, although if I were older I think it would. I didn't live through the Cuban Missile Crisis, school drills where you got under your desk, etc. I just see them as a country in decay, like an old drunk guy in the back of the crowd yelling obscenities, looking for attention.

I'm guessing a significant number here will disagree. With that I ask, how do you convince people who didn't live through the Cold War that the Russians are a threat? How do you taylor the message to a target market that doesn't have that fear?

What do we do about Erdogan at this point?

Take him out? Appease him? Something in the middle?

I admit that I hate this guy, or any secular dictator who thinks its ok to treat women like cattle and want to throw gays off of rooftops. He is a threat to the modern way of life and freedom for all. But I do realize the situation is now far more complicated after this weekend.

He's got 8.5 million followers on his verified (WTF Zuckerberg???) Facebook account, and if you look at those comments he's now a hero in the eyes of the Islamic world. We have nukes and other defense weapons in Turkey, they are a NATO country, Russian influence...this is really a shitty situation. How do we resolve it?

The one thing I don't understand about Rahm's endorsement

Why didn't he just keep his mouth shut? What was there to gain from that endorsement?

It doesn't take a political genius to understand how toxic that endorsement would be. Rahm and Hillary's team have a lot of political experience. They should know better, to say the least.

How can a team have so much political experience but be so out of touch when it comes to execution? Baffles me.

The establishment is loving this, don't fall for the bait

How do they get rid of not one, but TWO anti-establishment candidates?

Bernie was a leader last night, calling for unity. The true leader of the People. We need to listen to him.

The anger, the violence, the protests. America is watching. When it gets violent, many don't care who is right or wrong, just that it is an unstable situation. That's exactly what they want.

Don't take the bait and get in the mud with the scum, prove 'em wrong and show that we're above it.

This 'Draftkings is illegal' stuff...you guys think it will bleed over to Predictit.org etc?

Hopefully not! I wonder who's been bitching about these sites...people who lose money or B&M gaming institutions/other corporate interests?

The victim-pandering is getting old, and distracts from talking about issues

There is a lot of injustice in the world. But when it comes to a President, I want a leader, not a perpetual victim.

Politically there is a time and a place where that can be effective. Not this cycle...in the 2016 cycle, it's a political TRAP.

If I'm the GOP, I keep baiting with the brutish crap that Trump does. Why? Because it distracts OUR candidates from talking about this issues...the area where we DO have the advantage.

I get that HRC has a target market that does get fired up when she plays the victim card. But I hope they understand that while that base appreciates it, it's a VERY small target market, especially this cycle. It turns off more than it attracts.

Keep your eyes on the prize, HRC. Don't venture into the mud, because that's where you're least electable.

Like it or not, HRC will need Bernie supporters next November. Or vice versa

I really do not understand this arrogant attitude from the Clinton supporters. Very shortsighted, if you actually care about winning the GE. Why are you acting this way toward votes you ABSOLUTELY need next fall? It appears some of you would rather win the battle of pride today, even if it means losing the war next November. Which is very interesting.

At the end of the day, you still gotta get on your knees to court Bernie and his supporters. I'm sure a lot of you long time, 'loyal' party people (who have worked years, even decades to move up in the party rankings like a loyal, thoughtless peon) want to throw up at the thought of that...but guess what? If you don't do it, your horse has no chance. And the system you are familiar with could be destroyed.

Yep, I just insulted you guys. Buy guess what? You can either tell people like me to fuck off and you'll lose the general, or swallow your pride, court our vote and beat Trump. Yeah, it's a shitty situation for you. But that's how it's going to be, esp after Friday. Sorry.

December 18, 2015

Are we trying to lose?

Who the hell, outside of fierce party loyalists, WANTS to vote Democrat now?

This election should have been a slam dunk, but we're just begging Trump to kick our ass. Maybe the DNC deserves it.

Hello President Trump...this is all on you, Debbie.

Why is this Syrian refugee issue so black and white? On both sides?

Bash me all you want, but I am concerned about the safety of our country, and if we are effectively able to properly vet refugees from any country, because it's becoming obvious that it's very, very difficult to do so. It just feels like we are trying to jam a square peg into a round hole primarily based on legacy concerns.

Can we find a middle ground solution to this? Is there a way to be benevolent but not naively idealistic?

It would be terrible to allow refugees to continue to suffer under oppressive rule. And considering the resources the US and Europe have, they don't have to. But there are far more solutions than than the unnuanced "let 'em all in! Remember WW2? have a heart!"

I am all for keeping Syrian refugees out of harm's way, but it will cost billions of dollars, far more man power, and concerns of violence, hate crimes, and more divide in our country if we dump them into American society. But if we don't go this far, many will label those that disagree as xenophobes who are taking the bait.

What are the alternative solutions beyond this black and white pissing match?

I don't have the answer, maybe you guys do. I just hope that we all take a deep breath, and look at all viewpoints here. The WORST thing we can do is try to make this a one answer solution within the party, and criticize and blast anyone who disagrees. That's how you close the tent.
