I just saw Chris Matthews ask how the republican power structure in the senate is going to be. I turned it off.
They are corporate media, and all corporate media has been bought out thanks to all the media deregulation, you know the story well, citizens united, and I see a pathetic landslide from the naive and gullible online following like sheep to the slaughter.
They won't even tolerate an opinion left of the approved corporate left.
It's a joke. I monitor them and over and over they silence the left, and promote the right in their sophisticated way. It's a real joke, and insult to our intelligence.
I post this in hope that their effect on next weeks elections will somehow be cut, along with CNN and Faux of course too.
Today an entire segment was cut on Huff Post live with Howard Fineman, was it because I said we won't know the real poll until Tuesday night? Maybe, I don't trust any establishment media. We the people will have last word, we did with President Obama, we will next week.

US thinktank ponders: how about annexing Canada, eh?
Vladimir Putin may have taken Crimea for Russia, but in Washington on Wednesday the talk was of US annexation of Canada – all 4m square miles of it.
That at least was the “thought experiment” conducted by the Woodrow Wilson Center, a prestigious DC thinktank, which hosted a debate featuring the author of a book advocating political union of the two North American neighbours.
Diane Francis, a conservative Canadian newspaper columnist with dual US citizenship, says her call for the “merger of the century” has been listened to more seriously south of the border where she claims to have received complimentary letters from Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush.
“In Canada, people are horrified,” admitted Francis, before discussing how its 13 provinces and territories could become US states – but why Quebec might instead choose to become a semi-independent commonwealth, “a bit like Puerto Rico”.

Drawing on a wealth of archival documents in the U.S. and Germany, he reveals the shocking extent to which Hollywood cooperated and collaborated with the Nazis during the decade leading up to World War II to protect its business.
Indeed, "collaboration" (and its German translation, Zusammenarbeit) is a word that appears regularly in the correspondence between studio officials and the Nazis. Although the word is fraught with meaning to modern ears, its everyday use at the time underscored the eagerness of both sides to smooth away their differences to preserve commerce.

And how can you also have Rachel Maddow tell all your viewers they're going to prison every Friday night! Don't even joke about that to your audience, fools. How America Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Marijuana
For nearly a century, the United States has been one of the fiercest advocates and practitioners of marijuana prohibition in the world. At the height of the America’s anti-pot fervor in the 1950s and ’60s, one could even receive life imprisonment for simple possession of the drug.
But the puritanical fervor that once dominated the national discussion surrounding cannabis has been conspicuously absent of late. Earlier this month, the Colorado State legislature, by order of a November referendum, passed bills to implement the legalization and regulation of recreational marijuana use. Washington State voters also approved legalization by referendum on election day. And these events have recently been followed by more good news for supporters of cannabis law reform. The Organization for American States recently suggested that marijuana legalization could be a way to cut down on drug-violence in the western hemisphere. Perhaps most important, the movement has finally found a voice on Capitol Hill, as representatives Earl Blumenauer and Jared Polis submitted legislation earlier this year that would end federal prohibition of the drug, and allow states to tax and regulate it as they see fit. As Bill Keller put it recently in the New York Times, “Today the most interesting and important question is no longer whether marijuana will be legalized — eventually, bit by bit, it will be — but how.”

What The Rich Really Think

People like me don’t hate Obama because he’s going to raise our taxes, although we hate that plenty. We hate him because his views about the importance and primacy of the middle class diminish our status. The threat he represents isn’t economic; it’s existential. It’s not just our pocket books that are threatened, but, more importantly, our prestige and our influence on this country. Our manhood is at stake. . .
When Jack or Mitt or I call ourselves “Job Creators”, it isn’t because it’s true or that there is any evidence for it. It’s because being a job creator puts us right at the center of the economic universe – where we deserve to be. This belief system isn’t just convenient to us, although it is. It’s essential in order to justify our status and power.
I’m ready to grab my pitchfork!

Too close to call?
Am I the only one who thinks it is suspicious how this election is too close to call, according to the corporate media? I mean Obama should be at least at 60%, maybe even 70%. We have 6 huge media conglomerates dictating 90% all the media us sheep digest. Why is a close election, nearly tied, advantageous to the establishment? They want Mitt to steal the election, either by republican voting machines, or voter suppression. A close election makes that harder to detect and easier to steal.
The US presidential election is no contest
If the models are robust, and their predictions strongly in favour of Obama, why are we being told that the race is a dead heat? I think it is partly a cultural issue. Earlier this year I wrote a story about election forecasting for a British publication. The science editor liked it, but a colleague on the politics desk vetoed the piece, in part because he simply didn't believe the forecasts. I can see why. The hurly-burly of day-to-day politics is filled with dramatic events, like the recent leaked video of Romney talking in unvarnished terms about voters he cannot hope to win over. These events make the race feel like a roller-coaster ride.
The truth, as revealed by the science, is much more prosaic. Obama is way ahead and has been for ages. The meat and drink of daily political reporting - party conventions, gaffes, attack ads - have a limited and often passing impact. That's not to say that an unforeseen event couldn't put Romney in the White House. But it would have to be something huge, because studies of previous elections show outcomes depend far more on fundamental factors such as employment rates.

Any Alyona fans out there?
As someone who looked forward to and watched The Alyona Show on RT, I wonder why her show suddenly was canceled. I know she works for Huff Post Live now and I've seen her do some tough topics like she always did, but with more frequency and intensity than she does now.
