Intelligent parents average children

How would very intelligent people feel if they had kids that turned out to be average and end up becoming Football players and cheerleaders in school? Nice but not snobby. And these children would become tradesmen, policemen, soldiers, NFL players, hairdressers, waitresses, supermodels, NFL cheerleaders, and porn stars instead of scientists, engineers, psychologists/psychiatrists, and CEOs.

Disney promotes conformity!

Izzy Cornwaite is a hero.

I firmly believe that space opera should be enjoyed by all. Perhaps there is a generation gap with these executives. Perhaps they were the popular kids and still believe sci fi/fantasy interests a tiny subset of the population. They would probably crap their pants if I told them several of the football players/popular students I knew enjoyed Mass Effect.

Females have more financial power now. That isn't a bad thing. I believe in equality.

The American Disney promotes the death of the space opera. Space opera will most likely survive on the big screen but will decline in the literary and television mediums. If Disney continues to promote this same rigid social conformity we will see more shows like the Kardashians and less shows like Star Trek. So we must promote love of sci fi and fantasy in young girls.

Enjoy the new Mass Effect trailer.

Let the new golden age begin!

Luc Besson, the director of The Fifth Element has announced a new project called Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets which will be based on a French graphic novel called Valerian and Laureline. With Valerian, Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and the Mass Effect movie still in development let the new golden age of space opera begin!

The Expanse

Syfy just released a trailer for the Expanse. Will it be the Battlestar Galactica/Babylon 5/Firefly of our generation? Or are we destined for another failure? I think its about time we have another space opera on TV.

No one likes them anymore?

I was never interested in space opera until earlier this year when I played the first Mass Effect under the recommendation of a friend. I thought the Battle for the Citadel scene was epic! Why don't we see space opera on TV anymore? No one likes space opera anymore? Did the network execs decide the genre was dead? Do you think this genre should be revived? I think our generation could use a epic space opera.
