Trump's instability, stupidity, and willingness to do the bidding of Putin's government is a huge threat to peace in the world.

A source with direct knowledge of the investigation told The Daily Beast that it was their interpretation that “Mueller was making a case to Congress, who (unlike DOJ, in Mueller’s view) is empowered to weigh the lawfulness of a president’s conduct.”

“Given Mr. Barr’s public record of bias against the Special Counsel’s inquiry,” they wrote, “he is not a neutral observer and is not in a position to make objective determinations about the report.”

In a joint statement, the Democratic chairmen of three powerful House committees also called into question the integrity of Barr’s summary, suggesting he may be loyal to Trump. “We cannot simply rely on what may be a partisan interpretation of facts uncovered during the course of a 22-month review of possible wrongdoing by the President,” wrote Nadler, along with House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD).

Barr could soon face this tough line of questioning during testimony in front of congressional Democrats. Nadler, whose committee oversees the Justice Department, said in a tweet that his committee will call Barr to testify soon “in light of the very concerning discrepancies and final decision making at the Justice Department following the Special Counsel report.” At a press conference in New York, Nadler said he would subpoena Barr if necessary to compel him to appear.

Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, told The Daily Beast on Sunday that the panel is considering asking Mueller to testify on his report and the letter Barr sent to Congress that summarized the special counsel’s office findings.

There also is support among Democrats for testimony from Rosenstein, who worked with Barr to summarize the report. A spokesperson for Rep. Val Demings (D-FL), who serves on the Intelligence and Judiciary panels, said she supports bringing in Mueller, Rosenstein, and Barr to testify, along with the release of the report and all of Mueller’s collected materials.

The above may not be enough today for the doom and gloom crowd, but it does make clear this is not over by any rational interpretation.

and have some guts, for god's sake.

Mueller, at least according to Barr, wrote that he CAN NOT "exonerate" Trump... so (as Matt Miller says) "congratulations to Individual 1 for only being the subject of one ongoing criminal investigation." that we know of... and now the whole scandal is firmly in the hands of a patriotic Congress, which will follow the leads wherever they go - unlike Barr's DOJ.

Don't forget, Nixon was reelected in '72 and gone in '74, so I don't see this as a win for the Trump Administration.

Mueller punted to Barr, and Barr punted to Congress. Neither one was a profile in courage, obviously; the only patriots in all this are the Democrats in Congress, and given the insight into how Trump does business, they have plenty to go after.

Bottom line, Trump hired a national security adviser, campaign chair, deputy campaign chair, personal attorney/national party finance co-chair, (all CONVICTS) and a dozen other losers who have consistently proven themselves untrustworthy for the positions they were given - and the GOP as an institution and organization have accepted that bottom line, which indicts them as just as badly. NO REPUBLICAN who continues to support Trump can be trusted on national security issues, obviously.

It comes down to the reality that Trump is surrounded by crooks that he hired... "I'm not a crook" didn't work for Nixon; I don't see that as really a winning slogan for Trump.

Using Nixon as the template, it's worth remembering Nixon won re-election in '72, despite multiple scandals and the debacle in SE Asia; and yet he didn't finish a second term.

Keep the faith, keep up the fire, and enough with the defeatism.

Cripes, if some of today's posters had been around in 1775, 1861, or 1941, one can only imagine the impact.

The United States has survived, and thrived, in the face of much tougher enemies than DJT and the GOP; start acting like it.

The state took his AR-15 away after he beat up a coworker last year, but he managed to get his hands on two handguns. Two days ago, Limbaugh murdered Davis (California) Officer Natalie Corona, 22, as she worked a traffic collision in the college town in Central California. Limbaugh fired multiple shots at Corona, motorists and pedestrians, and firefighters responding to the scene before fleeing to his home nearby. Police attempted to negotiate his surrender over a period of hours, but Limbaugh shot himself and left a note demonstrating his conspiracy theories.

The murder of Officer Corona is tragic; her life was heroic. Here's some of it:
