if the Democrat Shelly Simonds is successful,with there appeal, what are the next steps? Can that decision also be appealed? (I HOPE NOT)

2. I saw a photo of the ballot in question.

Both names were circled in black.

But Simonds had a line thru it and the Republican did not?

It was first read as a vote for Simonds.

I'm not so sure?

4. i thought they DID NOT COUNT THIS BALLOT AT FIRST?

then decided to count it later causing a tie? (i thought she was leading by 1 vote) Am i wrong?

9. i think the recount tossed out this ballot, leaving the democrat up by 1 vote.

then they refused to certify the election on the grounds that this one ballot should be counted as a vote for the republican, leading to a tied election.

the ballot had both candidates' circles filled in, supporting the argument that it was an invalid overvote.

but the circle for the democrat had a single line through it, supporting the argument that it was "crossed-out" and therefore meant to be a vote for the republican.


i think. i've seen some confusing articles on this matter....

7. i thought it was more a question of process.

however they had counted or not counted that particular ballot, at the stage in question they were only certifying the results, not going through individual ballots. supposedly it wasn't the time or place to challenge individual ballots.

so the question is, was it proper to refuse to certify the results due to a single disputed ballot?

and if so, shouldn't there be a more extensive review (or perhaps i should say, *another* review) of all ballots, rather than just a decision based on a single ballot?

If she wins this appeal, IS IT THE END OF IT? or CAN THEY APPEAL? TY to who can answer this part!!

10. i'd imagine whoever loses the appeal can then appeal to the state supreme court.
