No, they don't need sympathy, understanding or someone who will "finally listen to their concerns". What they need is to be told at least once a day for the rest of their thoroughly miserable existences what ignorant, bigoted, hate-filled invertebrates they are.

4. I just got a Christmas card (my second one in a week)

from an old friend from college in NYC. She is a bliss ninny who I met while attending Parsons (art school). She became my sister's roommate and when she moved out my sister's house she found neo Nazi literature under her bed. She was "open minded" as an artist.

This second card went on and on about how I am "delusional for believing the fake news" and her "constitutional attorney husband has worked with real fact finding journalists exposing and researching corruption for 8 years, etc." I am told that my decisions are "based on lies created by the media to destroy" the fucking moron (I use that name to refer to him, not her). Meanwhile, her attorney husband is so successful that the family is on Medicaid.

I could tell her every day that she is ignorant, bigoted, etc. and it would fall on deaf ears. I would never bother wasting my time and energy trying to have a real conversation about real concerns since she chooses to live in an ignorant bubble and nothing will sway her. No more Christmas cards from me in the future. By the way, this is the same card that I created and sent last year but didn't get a nasty-gram in return. Is she feeling particularly offended because this past year has made her even more right wing/alt right?

what about mailing her a "Trump Lies" card about once a month? State a tRump lie (with date and location) and then state the truth of the matter.

I'm sure you know there's hundreds of them cataloged on the net, so it wouldn't be any problem getting accurate source material. That might put a little sand in her gears, LOL.

No matter how ignorant, disgusting and putrid these people behave and believe ...
these "deplorables" are only behaving at their current individual levels of awareness.
Criticizing them, calling them names, etc., will just make them mad and even more
set in their ways. People at their level MUST be right and will do almost anything
to assert their rightness. Though I agree the desire to castigate them seems
rather satisfying, doing so would serve only to assuage my ego. I would rather focus
my attention on figuring out some way to possibly raise their levels of
awareness to some small degree -- as impossible that might sound.
