ACLU warns St. Joe, MO schools about religious speakers

The district's coordinator of counseling arranged for assemblies featuring a speaker from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The ACLU got ahold of emails she had sent to FCA.

The ACLU noted that Cindy Crouse, the school district's coordinator of guidance and counseling, wrote in an August email discussing how to pay for FCA assemblies that there is nothing "God can't tackle, so I will join you on faith that we can raise the funds."

In an email to Simmons the following month, Crouse called the mother who complained about McElroy "crazy." She concluded by stating, "Satan was at work today."

Simmons responded, "This isn't the only seemingly spiritual attack we've received as of late ... must mean we're threatening satan's kingdom!"

"Thank you for understanding that I work in a public domain and I must follow the rules set forth by my supt.," Crouse wrote. "You know if it were up to me I'd preach the gospel every chance I had."

I was raised Catholic in my youth. We were taught that religion is a private matter. Your faith is best kept to your self. If you are Christian and a counselor leave your Bible and your faith at home. No religion or religious practices should exist in the public school system. And any charter school should be completely religion free. NO VOUCHERS FOR RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS. NO FAITH BASED
institutions should get ANY tax money.

If they insist, then we fully tax the churches on their property and income.

They're claiming public schools teach kids how to be gay. And there's something about the war on Christmas too.

How about "Render unto Caesar..."

ON EDIT: Left out the word "POLITICS" - as in, just don't "get" how Fundies can preach POLITICS from the pulpit. As opposed to preaching RELIGION from the pulpit.
