Love "South Pacific.."
"You've got to be taught To hate and fear,
You've got to be taught From year to year,
It's got to be drummed In your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be taught to be afraid Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff'rent shade,You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be taught before it's too late, Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate, You've got to be carefully taught!"
FOX trots out small children... who put up a lemonade stand...
and put them in the anti-Obama spot light.

IMHO this qualifies as child abuse..
no matter how cute you dress it up...
these children are being used...
The parents should be ashamed...
and FOX should be censured.

(11,804 posts)wouldn't it? Or is the fact that they are on TV the abuse? In which case what about child actors?

(14,656 posts)national teevee to substaniate the station's political objective to answer the lead in piece: the President's remarks on business building. Actually, they backed up the President's point of view that being we don't build businesses alone. They were set up. No parents in sight unlike children taken to protests who are with their parents.
Child actors? Apples and oranges. At least we can assume they're well paid and operate under child labor laws governing their industry.

(11,804 posts)Since the message seems to be that Obama insulted these cute little girls - but Child Abuse is pretty strong language. What is abusive?
1. - putting them on TV?
2. - having them involved in a political discussion they clearly don't understand?
3. - having them be conservative?

(2,185 posts)Children accompany parents, who hopefully have educated the
kids as to the reasons for their activity.
Learning about justice is part of education...
but showcasing little ones.. one national tv is just wrong.
Were the parents there beside the tots?
This is unconsciable.
AND if they were 'child actors' someone coached them,
dressed them up, and gave them a stage for their views.
Either way.. wrong on all counts.
