General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe democrats may have finally figured out how to deal with Trump.
Trump is a bully, everyone knows it. Trump does not know how to do the job of president. He is fucking clueless. He just tells congress give me a bill I will sign it. He may ask for something to be included but he does not know much about the issues. He simply listens to the people around him and when someone says something that sounds good he will go with it. Trump is incompetent.
The democrats should and must stand their ground at all cost. Trump the bully will not know how to deal with it. He always expects people to cave into his bully tactic. He will be exposed, his incompetence will be exposed. He will look stupid because he is in many ways. Trump will be exposed as a fraud.
No DACA no deal. Lets see how the bully handles it. Trump will be blamed for the shutdown because he is the president. It is up to the president to end and prevent shutdowns.

When Fox News tells him to stop the Show Boating, then he will cave.

Elect a Dem majority in Congress in 18, and then elect a new president in 2020.

(3,515 posts)where it belongs -- on the Republican tax bill. The plan is that Republicans cut the taxes of those who pay the most taxes and now will scream bloody murder when there is an obvious shortfall when it comes to money to fund the military and other necessities like Social Security, Medicaid (pays for elder care for many Americans who are truly helpless), Medicare and other non-military programs. Republicans will not tax the rich; they will steal money from the poor. That's how they think. Christians? I don't think so.
Democrats have to stay strong and be as strategic in their thinking as the Republicans are. Don't help Republicans pass their budget. Think in the long term.

(4,379 posts)He said he wanted the DACA deal and then changed his mind because people told him it would hurt him with the base. This is a great weakness Trump and the republicans have . They are terrified of the monster they created. Their base. This has turned them into liars and extremists.
If the democrats are smart they can take advantage of this weakness.
I like Schumer much better then Reid. Better leader.

(63,955 posts)whatever they put in front of him, then came his S-hole comments and he backed himself in a corner, showing his revenge by saying "DACA is dead" horrible POS he is. He is jello he is being manipulated by his staff namely Stephen Miller and John Kelly both racists, but the blame is on the repigs all of it.
tRump is just an s-hole and so is Ryan and McConnell, they will sink if they keep this up. Not for a minute do Democrats own this one.

The first time he stiffs some lawyers, the exits will be jammed by snakes with briefcases.

(115,947 posts)That's why so many reputable law firms declined to represent him - that, and the fact that all their other clients would probably run for the exits. He's not far from looking for legal help in the basement of a nail salon in a strip mall in Albuquerque.

(7,814 posts)And that's what he's counting on here: he thinks that Democrats are weak and that we will cave to get something, then he can yank everything from us at the last minute. That's his kind of strategy and he thinks he's good at it.
Wait until he finds out that he and the rethugs can't get everything they want because there is no other political party he can threaten to turn to if Schumer won't deal.

(56,829 posts)he's made his way through life by hiring small and mid sized contractors and then cheating them out of what was promised and then daring them to sue. And, because they're small to mid sized, they can't afford the elite lawyers that might be needed.

(11,597 posts)Since Trump lacks any moral compass or any convictions, outside of grabbing as many dollars as possible, he has no problem reneging on deals made behind closed doors. All it takes is one of his staff to come up with any kind of opposition. The most effective way to deal with Trump is out in the open and on camera.

(11,573 posts)It is not AT ALL a bad thing to understand, and to weigh in one's decision-making, but the GOP has Bumper Sticker Slogan mentality, as does their public at large.
They love that lack of critical thinking, and go with what sounds or feels like the "right" message.
