Fox News and Sean Hannity have, through their own brand of propaganda, successfully manipulated the president of the United States into taking action that the FBI has grave concerns about and that his own Justice Department described as extraordinarily reckless.
The Nunes memo is a Hail Mary pass. A desperate, last-ditch effort by Trump and his Fox News enablers to stop the Mueller investigation before it goes any further and inflicts any more damage.
Most concerning of all, he is doing all of this at the behest of Hannity and Fox News.
I used to think that Fox was following Trumps lead. Now, it appears as if Trump is following Fox and Hannitys lead ― and in the process, effectively surrendering the powers of the presidency to his own propagandists.( Read more)

donnie, like palin before him, graduated magma cum loud from from foxnews university.
he's scarcely had a political thought that wasn't downloaded directly from foxnews.
he's always followed their lead, at least when he wasn't following putin's.
this is nothing new for donnie.

(9,291 posts)It's classified as entertainment. I can't help their viewers who don't know the difference. They can make up anything, have actor talking heads and pretend it's news.
When we control our govt, laws will have to be written to correct this. We're too stupid to understand the difference, so they are either news or a talk show. With a banner on the bottom that scrolling, entertainment.

(22,976 posts)What you say is correct, that the yahoos themselves are not critical thinkers, and their fear and anger is already there.
However, what Fox, Hannity, Limbaugh, et al do is legitimize and capitalize on that fear and anger by feeding it, and stoking it until theyve whipped up a murderous rage for Obama, or Hillary, or Comey, or Mueller, or whoever is the Republican Partys target-du-jour. They spread the talking points that then get spit back online, etc., in classic echo-chamber fashion. The latest example is the idiotic memo with the feverish way the right-wing talking heads were selling it, youd think the Magna Carta was about to be revealed.

(22,976 posts)And thats what Republican Trumpists are trying to do to the Muller DOJ investigation: create another BENGHAZI situation to get all their low-information muscle on board. They will continue to manufacture shocking! issues 24/7 that dont really exist, but they will present them like they were written on stone tablets and shipped directly from Mt. Sinai.
We will continue to hear daily from Republicans and Hannity about this
worst case in American history of corruption and partisan politics in our government institutions! There are already rumblings of more memos, because this time, the GOP delivered major hype, but not a shred of meaningful content.
