Trump is so fucking clueless. I heard him say this about our soldiers.

He was talking about the Fort Hood killings. He said if our soldiers were armed on our military bases they would be able to protect themselves.

I was in the Army. I can honestly say letting our soldiers carry around loaded weapons all the time is the dumbest idea ever. If you have never been in the service, I can tell you some soldiers are not safe with their weapons. Some of them are scary unsafe. The weekends and sometimes on weekdays our military bases can be fucking crazy. Thousands of young, inexperienced kids getting wasted. Lots of crime, lots of fights. Female soldiers have to be very careful. They should never walk alone on a military base. When I served I knew three women in my company who got raped.

There is a reason the weapons are always secured in the arms room.

Trump is one of the most clueless bastards of have ever seen.

I saw a riot between two rifle companies hollering drunk from barracks window. Alcohol played a big factor in this dumb ass episode. I walked in and my roommate was trying to toss his 10 speed out the window on dudes from other infantry company. I said knock it the fuck off

and they took to the common area between the barracks with e tools and posts from beds to settle up. that’s the night my friend had piece of his ear bitten off. Now I was on CQ i called the MPs. Arming troops in garrison not good idea.

That's why 18 year-olds are drafted or join the military. Who else has the energy to expend at the drop of a hat. The two groups you saw fighting each other will watch each other's backs in combat. I'm a 71 year old vet and agree accessible weapons on military bases would be a major disaster. I hope Kelly will at least straighten out Trump on this issue.

the next morning and there was hell to pay for their actions.

I agree with you that the answer isn't everyone on base carrying guns. As you have stated there are MPs on base who can handle the typical squirmishes. But if you're carrying around an M16 on base for security, that means you're also carrying around live rounds and I'm sure the problem would eventually turn out to be more lost weapons and ammo than shooting events.

If they were wet they would be destroyed on the weekends by drunk soldiers. When I was in the army they had beer machines in the barracks, right next to the soda machine. Drugs everywhere. You could get any kind of drug you wanted. There was no drug testing when I served. I don't know if that has changed. Someone always got busted for pot when they brought the dogs through the barracks.

18. The Army fin INVENTED drug testing!
Sun Feb 25, 2018, 02:42 PM
Feb 2018

The best drug lab in the world is the Army’s lab at Fort Meade, which was built by NSA to test its own people but built so big it could test the rest of the military.

The services used to send all their samples to Meade, and most of them would come back negative...commanders know who their dopers are and the number of people who got kicked out of the service for AR 600-85 violations goes on your end-of-command Officer Evaluation Report, so the standard practice was to only test the good kids. Then a DA civilian named Jerry Moree came up with a brilliant idea: we will test the whole unit without exception, run all the samples through a cheaper machine, and send all the positives to Meade. I’m surprised no one killed him.

When they first started, it was two positive tests in your career and you’re gone. Then it was two for E-4 and below and one for everyone else. Now it’s discharge on your first confirmed positive.

Oh...forget the “poppy seed bagel” excuse for flunking the opiate test. After they heard that one enough times, they got 100 soldiers of all shapes, sizes and sexes and fed them poppy seed bagels until they couldn’t hold any more, then calibrated the machine with that urine. The cutoff is high enough you could do smack on the weekends and not come up hot.

Sun Feb 25, 2018, 02:02 PM

I was standing at the bottom of the stairs next to the MP with the dog. They tell everyone over the PA system to get out of the barracks and form up. Then they search everyones room.

As everyone was coming down the stairs I saw a good friend of mine walking down the stairs carrying his cowboy boots. He walked up to me and he said hold these, then continued outside. I said to myself, where the hell is he going? I then looked down at his boots and they were full of bags of pot. I looked at the dog who was about five feet from me. He was sitting there staring at me. He never made a sound. The dog has to be given an order before he will react.

I walked outside and handed my friends boots back to him. He was laughing his ass off. He was never caught.

22. True story about another barracks search
Sun Feb 25, 2018, 02:52 PM
Feb 2018

When I was in Korea there were three MI companies in Seoul, HHC 501st Group, HHC 524th MI Battalion, and 209th MI Company. I was in the 209th. 501st’s first sergeant was a total prick who didn’t like that he couldn’t inspect the 524 and 209 rooms, so he kept on fucking with us. One night he brought a drug dog and handler into the barracks.

This was the same night one of our number got drunk and slid down a sandstone hill. After they scrubbed out his cuts with a brush and alcohol, we brought him back to the barracks and got him a chili dog...which the drug dog ate. The MP cut his search short and hauled ass down the fire escape because he truly believed Jones was going to kill that fucking dog with his bare hands.

The Army got infested with seriously bad people during Shrub Bush’s wars of attrition, and they’re still there. Maybe Trump needs to send his sons and daughter to live in a Field Artillery or Engineer barracks for a month before he opens his mouth

It’s 1968 and I am infantry. Strange quirks landed me in a
Guard tower, Spandau prison, Berlin Germany. We guards
are showpieces all decked out with our M15 rifles and no
ammunition, not even blanks. That morning I seen Hess for
the first time in the garden behind the prison. I was astounded,
a tall slender man in a long coat. He walked over toward Randy’s
tower then hurried back to the prison. A few minutes later these
German police and a replacement guard went to Randy’s tower
and removed him. I had to finish my week of 5 hours on and
10 hours off for a few more days. I was mystified. Randy was
a hippie from L.A. WTF. So when I got back to the barracks
at McNair I rushed to Randy’s room..I thought he might be in
prison or something. Randy said Rudolph looked up at him to
so he raised his hand and said, “Shallom”, (or something like that,
it was a Jewish greeting and Randy was a Jew.) He was just a
hippie to me and he never did any Jewish rites. Any how, the
company commander got his ass chewed for putting a Jew on
guard at Spandau and even if Randy had the means he would never
have shot Hess. He didn’t even know who he was.
So, I concur, we do not want our soldiers bearing weapons
on compound. I guess Randy could have shot Hess and not have
been prosecuted?

It took time and effort to write it. I was there and felt
unappreciated then and now (Drafted for Viet Nam). So your reading what I
wrote and responding will be with me forever.

There was a little building just below Randy's tower. Hess was
probably going there when he confronted innocent Randy. Hess
committed suicide ten years later in that little shack. That's
their story.

You were right in the middle of history - and I mean both Vietnam and having crossed paths with one of the most evil perpetrators of WWII. I found that chilling. And poor Randy! How did Hess even know he was Jewish? Or was Hess just being as disrespectful as he could think of being to an American guard? Hess was a truly flawed human being, hard to feel any sympathy for him, even considering his sad end. Thank you for sharing this story!
