(37,748 posts)It is often difficult to perceive anything other than the all or nothing... especially if doing otherwise would allow us context inconvenient to our narratives.
Thankfully, we're all of us rational enough to realize that a process is often made up of several steps (of which, there are always the first few), and that demanding the realization of the eventual goal immediately is more often than not, counter-productive.

Gunsite .308 is a bolt-action, not a semi-auto.

So here's the question: When assault weapons are gone, what's next on the list? Scary-looking bolt actions or non-scary semi-autos?
