The dialogue about guns in schools right now has reached astronomical heights of insanity. The other countries of the world are laughing at us right now. With Orange Douche in the White House recommending that we throw more guns onto a gun problem is not going to make us safer.
Oh and Lt. Gov. Douchebag - Delta did not stage today's gun incident as a publicity stunt. And to the NRA and everyone who is whining about Dick's Sporting Goods not supporting your political beliefs 100% - you're not helping things. At all.
What's happening now are the ramblings of your drunk uncle at the end of your wedding. Or that crazy guy at the end of the bar who's working on his 6th Jack & Coke. The answer to questions that are being asked right now are not the ramblings of a coherent person. Should teachers be armed? Should heavily armed wannabe Rambos be patrolling the hallways of our schools? Would more guns make us safer?
The answer to all of these questions - is NO!!!!!! Throwing more guns onto a gun problem will not make us safer. Bullets coming from one direction is already bad enough. Imagine them coming from multiple directions. And how are you going to pay for this when your president cut $500 million from school safety, because, reasons?
No, teachers should not be armed. Need I remind you of the guy in Georgia who left his gun on the toilet in the bathroom of a middle school and one of his students found it? What could go wrong there?
Should armed vigilantes be given a free pass to patrol the hallways of our schools and have guys with giant sniper rifles be pearched on the rooftops of nearby buildings? Do you really want these guys deciding who's a legitimate threat or not? No!
So the bottom line is that we need to shut this down. Go home, America, you're drunk. Come back when you're sober and we can have a sane, rational, thought out discussion on real gun control. More guns definitely isn't going to help the situation. You need to get away from these things and kick your enablers to the curb.

It is well written and spot on. You (or, if not you, the person who did write it) succeeded in painting a most vivid and accurate picture of our country's current condition. This needs to be spread around.

(100,075 posts)I saw Fox News out in the open earlier (not my choice) and the dialogue that they were discussing in regards to guns in schools, I was about ready to blow a gasket. I just couldn't believe this is where we are at in 2018.

(4,033 posts)Delta Airlines which hubs and has corporate offices in Atlanta cancelled its partnership with the NRA and announced there would no longer be perks for NRA members. Then Georgia's Lt. Gov tweeted:
I will kill any tax legislation that benefits @Delta unless the company changes its position and fully reinstates its relationship with @NRA. Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back.

Methinks the reason they're worried is because the majority of them won't pass the background check or will be considered mentally unstable.
I bet the ones that are really worried are the "collectors"; i.e., the ones with 20 guns or more. Perhaps they should try collecting stamps, instead of weapons of death...
