The 18th Congressional District is made up of a few counties surrounding Pittsburgh, and that's where Saccone is running for the House seat vacated by Tim Murphy last fall. This isn't a "deep-red" district as the MSM like to say, it's very nearly 50/50 Dems/GOP.

However gerrymandering of this district made it easy for Murphy to win re-election in a skate for the last 4 or 5 cycles. Now he's gone and of the 2 candidates running, neither is incumbent. We've been mentioning the Dem candidate Conor Lamb a lot on DU recently, he's got a good chance to win this. He's a great-looking candidate and the Democrats are on fire. Joe Biden came to stump for him a couple of days ago.

Saccone is the R and doesn't have much going for him except the religious right and "anti-Nancy Pelosi." Trump has been talking him up, but what good is his endorsement at this point? We'll see in 3 days.
