Racism has always been a central tent poll of conservatism. But it's ironic they could be friends.

I am of course grateful that conservative parties the world over tend not to court the immigrant vote because God knows we don't need more right wing people in power. But I just find it ironic how, in their hatred, they are blind to the fact that they technically could have a lot of friends in that community. If they ruthlessly distanced themselves from and rooted out the racial hatred within their ranks they would find actually that a lot of immigrants would be drawn to them. Conservative world views are among the norm in many many immigrant populations.

I am of course playing devils advocate here as I don't want such a thing to occur. It's just funny how hatred blinds one to all that we share.

Although I have heard that those demographics are changing as the older anti-Castro Cuban population has gotten much older.
But your basic premise has merit. Not all immigrants are of liberal ideology and if they were I have no idea why they would want to live here other than basic economic needs.
