1. The narrative of Trump unglued is not totally wrong but misses the reason why - he was terrified of the job the first six months, and now feels like he has a command of it.
2. So now he is basically saying Ive got this, I can make the changes I want.
3. Meanwhile, the campaign continues to be the truer, purer version of Trumpland, where people who couldnt clear the normal government systems but who he wants around go.
4. This is not to say his perception of self/confidence is in line with others perceptions of him. But it is part of why he is less able to be swayed.

(81,858 posts)Hed become truly dangerous once he knew what he could do. This is why Kelly, Mattis, Tillerson, McMaster hide things from him.

(4,836 posts)I was so disgusted with them over Judith Miller, I made my subscription weekends only. At some point this month I am going to cancel all subscription with them; first over Haberman, and second, their constant attempt at normalizing this dangerous moron. They and other MSM are complicit in helping this man damage and destroy America.

(58,785 posts)she's not exactly admired in this house.
Trump thinks he's in control and able to do what he wants. Delusional, but he was looking very satisfied with himself this morning as he announced he had his cabinet "almost the way I want it."
And whatever caused his long-time body man to be escorted out by security, the man went directly to his new job with the campaign.

(15,330 posts)spent 2 fucking years normalizing the abnormal.
Every stupid grunt, or passing of wind from this orange piece of shit was treated like it was some kind of "earth-shattering breaking news".
Meanwhile, they didn't have the fucking time to actually cover candidates who wanted to talk about the important issues of our time.
Suddenly; "we'll take their oil" (A FUCKING WAR CRIME!!!!) was treated like a "normal and viable" option.
Some media folks better start brushing up on and studying the Nuremberg trials of the WWII propagandists. They're going to need that information.

(36,851 posts)People close to the White House say they expect more major personnel shifts this week. An effort to rip off the bandaid fast on a number of fronts is likely.

(6,929 posts)I just tweeted to that she needs to stop normalizing crazy and that both she and the NY Times are embarrassments. It was quite cathartic. I love Twitter.
