Hillary Clinton taking flak for making a factual statement about 2016 election (VIDEO)

While I am not a Hillary Clinton fan, the flak she is taking for hurting the feelings of a few for a factual statement is entirely unfair. It is being spun as sour grapes when instead it should present a more critical question. Why?We must examine Hillary Clinton's factual statement in more detail.

As far as our horrid sins and mistakes go, I think posting clickbait is far, far down the list. LanternWaste Mar 2018 #4

... because I was already familiar with this particular website, but took the bait anyway.

The posts that lead to that website really don't contribute much to the conversation. It's clear to me (in my opinion) that the posts are not intended to promote discussion. Instead, it's just a quick "teaser" or "bait" to get someone to click the link.

Frankly, I'm kinda surprised that links to that website are allowed at all. More ads than actual content... top, bottom, margins, and in between paragraphs. Ugh!

2. That's why I don't click on those links
Yep... I was in a hurry and not really being as observant as I should have been. But, you know, there's a "block" feature that I ought to be using instead... I'll turn that on next.

As far as our horrid sins and mistakes go, I think posting clickbait is far (far, far, far, far) down the list.

So far down the list in fact, that any righteous criticism against three or four additional seconds stolen from out day rises to the level of mere petulance.

But then again, I realize even the most benign of errors can often be red-meat to starving wolves.

Notice the username and the website are the same?

It’s one thing to accidentally post a link to a clickbait site.

It’s another to create it and then run around posting links to it acting like you are trying to further a discussion.

Good grief.

And all that for nothing more than a recap and reposting of a few other people’s tweets.

The rise of clickbait farm pseudo news sites is not going to do anything to help our side or political discourse in general. I get that ads help pay the bills, but when the content of the page is more ads than anything meaningful or productive it kills your credibility to folks visiting and makes it look like the only reason for the content is to get views for the ads.
