Minus Nunes (who's nominally recused), there are 12 Rs on HPSCI. 3 have outright disavowed their original presentation of their conclusions. 1 doesn't seem excited about it. Depending how you count it, that's 1/4 to 1/3 of the committee's majority that is now backpedaling.

Rep. Michael Conaway, heading the HPSCI Trump/Russia probe, said their report actually leaves open the possibility that Russia wanted Trump to win

Rep. Mike Conaway also says he misspoke when he told reporters at least twice Monday that he believed Russia actually tried to HELP Clinton. "Nothing that they did remotely helped Hillary Clinton."

(25,242 posts)How about just the Repugs on the committee - did they get a chance to read it before it was released?
It was probably written by Nunes with the help of the WH and just issued.

(17,862 posts)Nunes shouldn't even have a vote. That is 12-9. Only two defections and you would vote down the report? Should call for a revote. Raise holy hell with any member walking away from report, but refusing to vote it down. This is a question that reporters should be asking (along with every time a GOP Senator complains about Trump or the majority why they do not just caucus with the Democrats.
