Why will this district disappear after November? Redrawing should not take place until after the 2020 census? Or is this a court order?
But there will still be elections in November?

(11,012 posts)1. Because the PA Supreme Court ruled the congressional map an illegal gerrymander
The redrawn maps are fairer and this district is split.

(47,476 posts)2. Thanks. Will this take place after the November elections?
And what will happen to the one holding the seat?

then for the 2018 mid-terms in Nov.

(11,012 posts)5. I also read that Saccone and Lamb can declare for different districts
But only have 1 week to gather signatures!

(15,286 posts)6. You don't have to live in a district to run for that CD
But in the new map's CD's Lamb will be in the new 17th (part of old 12th) and Saccone will be in the new 18th (old 14th). Lamb would face incumbent Keith Rothfus (R) and Saccone would square off against incumbent Mike Doyle (D). Neither candidate will live in the new 14th which encompasses most of the old/current 18th. That will be an open seat.
