PA-18 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole world is following this race.
Hoping that:
All the Kochs' money and all the Kochs' men
Couldn't win this for the right wing again.
And it looks like the world might get its (and our) wish!

(63,221 posts)Glad to hear that this was followed globally! This race was a referendum on the Trump presidency and the people voted NO! There is some hope here after all. This county went for Trump by a 20% margin in the GE and now they are losing. This is a very good sign!

(54,502 posts)It wouldn't surprise me to hear it has made the rounds in the rest of Europe by now.

Mahalo for telling, DFW!

(298,021 posts)seem pretty positive about it. though. I just don't let myself go until it is over.
Too many memories of the unexpected happening.

(54,502 posts)After all, we would have otherwise had Presidents Al Gore and Hillary Clinton. Republican voting rights suppression was not brought into being in order to make sure MORE people got to exercise their right to vote.
At least this was not in Wisconsin, where the corrupt governor has some corrupt county official ready with a broom closet full of "inadvertently misfiled" Republican ballots ready in case the real tally falls short of their needs.
Same here in Belgium.
I'm waiting the evening headlines, I will translate some.

(54,502 posts)They still got ALMOST enough people to vote for their sleaze bag to knock us off our high horse. We dare not lighten up for a second, because they have more in their spare change than we have in our whole war chest. It's the ideas we communicate and how well we communicate them that will matter. Forty quardrillion dollars' worth of Koch advertising won't ring true with someone to whom Trump promised job security, and who received a pink slip ten months later. We dare not let them forget that, or that we will not stop looking for ways to help and retrain them. Trump, once they voted for him, doesn't care if they emigrate to Honduras and get killed in a drug gang war.

(54,502 posts)I left years ago, but mainly because commuting to Europe got tedious and my wife, who is European, doesn't want to live in America.
But the majority of those are the ones who stay. 'Tis a heavy burden they bear, but the voters of PA-18 just made it a LITTLE lighter. Keep it up, people!
