Would Trump Go To War To Game The 2018 Mid Terms. Making War Support An Issue?

Trump is crazy enough to start a war to make it an issue in November to game the Democrats. You wonder why he has been making these moves right now to get a yes man cabinet.

In Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and on and on, including a lot of places we don't even know about. We're in a constant state of war, it would seem. The disaster in Iraq has lessened the American tolerance for a big war and if Trump doesn't know that, everyone else does.

6. Sorry, deleted my first reply because I was thinking 2020, not 2018.

I do not believe he really has any backing at this time, but the period after 2018 is a more interesting scenario. Especially if there are no grown-ups left in the room, which seems where he is heading.
If he feels the walls closing in after 2018 and is likely facing humiliation, I think the odds for a massive distraction of some kind increase.

7. I am sure he is contemplating aggression overseas with hawks Pompeo and possibly Bolton in place

Republicans have attempted in all Presidential elections to push the fearmongering angle that they are tougher on foreign policy and will be better at protecting Americans from enemies and terrorism so I expect ramping up by Pompeo and Bolton of fearmongering regarding threat to US from N. Korea and Iran in runup to 2020. Very likely we will see some more military actions such as the attacks we saw on Syria and in Afghanistan last year that were theatrical calculated attempted shows of strength by Trump to shore up his support.

He rushed his idiotic steel tariffs through, talked up negotiations with his North Korean doppelganger and sent his entire family into PA18 to try to save it.

Even with all of that they still lost a congressional seat that was listed as +R11. I'm slowly starting to think the country has finally realized how insane we were last year.

9. My Hope Is That Trump Would Not Go To War With Iran. But He Is Nuttier Than A Bag Of Squirrels.
