Hillary gave a speech in India, which I guess Heikamp didn't like
This pisses me off

(20,818 posts)but I'm not sure that's going to happen this time. She only won last time thanks to the Indian vote, which put her over the edge. But her lack of support for them during the NO DAPL protests, even when they were getting attacked, persecuted and harassed, has greatly angered them and they will not be turning out to support her this time.

(6,377 posts)I don't love that she said that, but he has to play to her audience. Similar to Conor Lamb saying he's anti-Pelosi.

(82,849 posts)Sen. Heitkamp just happened to get booked by chucktodd to say it to the nation. Amazing!
I wonder if chucktodd is going to have Maxine Waters on anytime soon?
Me.
(35,454 posts)HRC is a private citizen and can do as she pleases. Heitkamp does plenty that I don't like.

(59,584 posts)She could shit $20 gold pieces, and they'd accuse her of gaming the commodity markets.
She could walk on water, and they'd accuse her of being unable to swim.
How about we start worrying less about the preordained future - the fact that the MAGAtts are going to howl at the moon about "Hillary! HILARY!!! HILLLLARRRRYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!" until they're pushing up daisies - and worry more what Democrats are going to do, how all of us can help, and how we're going to win this fucking thing in 2018 and 2020?

(20,818 posts)and that state is about as red as you can get (I live in South Dakota, which is just as bad). She's really a DINO, and is in for a real political fight to keep her seat so she's got to pander to the wingnuts and has no problem doing so. Problem is, the hypocrite doesn't realize that, given a choice between a DINO pandering to the RW and a real RW, most red states, including ND, will take the real RW every time.
Also, she only won her seat thanks to the substantial Indian vote in ND. She barely won, and their votes were what put her over the edge. She has, however, completely lost that vote, and deservedly so, given her lack of sympathy and action during the NO DAPL protests. She didn't support them at all, even when they were being attacked, persecuted and harassed, and when the ND legislature was going after them full throttle during their session last year, introducing tons of bills against them and protests in general. They will remember and will not support her this time.

(30,481 posts)Are not hurt by opposing Clintons comments. People want to preach to Trump supporters on the one hand and claim opposing Clinton is bad on the other.

(92,187 posts)anything she is critisized. When Hillary doesn't smile she is critisized.
When people accuse Hillary of doing something she didn't do, and she responds to those accusations, she is criticized for responding
The irony of this faux outrage at something a private citizen has said, the LACK of outrage when sanctions against Russia aren't implemented. The silence when Arkansas joins the increasing number of other red states requiring proof of employment in order to qualify for Medicaid.
Trump LIES on an almost daily basis, yet the media refuses to call him a liar
Where is the outrage, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
While there is no doubt Heitkamp is doing this for political considerations, I wonder if this was the thirties in Germany, would Heitkamp be so shy speaking out against those supporting Hitler? This isn't an unreasonable speculation, because during the campaign when Hillary referred to the KKK and other white supremacist groups supporting trump as deplorables, Heitkamp expressed regret at Hillary using such language

(42,307 posts)Heitkamp will say what she thinks she needs to so that she can win reelection. I'm disagree with the attack Hillary/Pelosi strategy, but I don't live in ND.
Regardless, is this really newsworthy?
