Richard Painter says we can't wait for 2020. He isn't sure Trump's planning to have an election then





I am also not convinced that he is planning to have an election in 2020.









That tweet followed two earlier tweets responding to what Franken's replacement, Tina Smith, said about letting the voters decide if Trump is fit for office (she wouldn't comment further to Politico ( https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/07/tina-smith-women-rule-minnesota-443367 ):







My main disagreement with Senator Smith is about Trump. She says “it’s up to the voters to decide if he is fit for office.” That means we wait until 2020. I say it’s well past time for the House and Senate to decide.









“voters of this country” to be precise. At the rate he is going with obstruction of justice and abuse of power we simply can’t wait. The Constitution says the House and Senate have a job to do. It’s tine to do it.
