Anyone who wishes to engage in that strategy has my permission. It's ok. Seize the day.
Anyone who disagrees with me and wishes to claim that I am responsible for chasing windmills is a fool.
Anyone who feels as I do I suggest you do as I do, which is to tell the fools to f*** off.
Anyone who hasn't made up your mind one way or the other, I wish you clarity.
Did I miss anyone?

And I have even less interest in being instructed or lectured to do otherwise.

(7,614 posts)If they voted for Trump, they're incapable of being swayed by reason and logic.

(2,091 posts)Only one problem with that is who will win in 2020 if we don't
Not everyone who voted for trump was a deplorable. There were lots of reasons.
Reality is that we need to win more states than we did last time.

(11,746 posts)I'm waiting for someone to tell me, directly, that I am responsible for reaching out to #fakepresident voters.

(31,109 posts)Are there trump/chief traitor voters who are "reachable?"
Probably, but they dont need to be "reached" or convinced or talked nicely to, in order for them to do the right thing and vote for any Democrat.
If they are decent people, they dont need us to say anything to them and nothing we say could matter, they will do the right thing, period.
If I have to REACH out to you to get you not to vote for Hitler to continue in power or someone like him, then I simply cant reach that far.

(81,468 posts)If the Trump voters are sincere and want change, how hard is it for them to choose "Democratic" instead of the other party they chose last time?
They won't do that unless we spend money and kiss their ass and hope that MAYBE they'll vote Democratic?
FUCK THAT SHIT.
Ignore them.

(83,751 posts)Me, I am going to vote Democratic and bring as many fellow Dems to the polls with me.
Kirk Lover
(3,608 posts)interested in this prospect. I still will throw shit back at them. For example just now on twitter a deadhead maga twit just posted and I responded that the grateful dead would be ashamed of you. She replied: oh the dead is about loving each other and excepting each others differences blah blah...and I said that's freaking hysterical coming from someone who has #buildthewall in their profile.
(shortened version of exchange)
So if that's the outreach you're talking about...yeah I'm doing that.

(11,746 posts)Personally I think it's a waste of time but that's just my opinion. If the spirit moves you, go for it.
If I encounter an objectively reasonable argument favoring intervention I of course could adjust my thinking.

(3,608 posts)throw one liners at these hypocrites. It really requires very little effort on my part.
I've done my share of that.

(9,670 posts)You'd think that, by now, they'd recognize that they'd made a drastic error.
Not so.
They're either oblivious or caught in the echo chamber. But they're still fervently pro-Trump.
Your situation may be different than mine, but in crimson red rural Georgia, there's no reason for me or anyone to attempt to cultivate a Trump voter.
I just plug my ears and vote for the Democrat. They'll have to come around on their own.

(9,670 posts)Most of these folks are political morons, easily duped. They latched on to one or two of Trump's selling points and that's all they want to know. They may not be overt racists or haters. Believe me, I have to co-exist with them.
Of course, there's the zealots too, but I run into many, many more generational Republicans who live in the echo chamber of their church, their neighbors and right wing radio and TV.

(9,527 posts)Not much of an argument if you have to resort to such a common logical fallacy as an ad hominem attack.
Oh also I'm pretty sure there is something in the rules about the responsibility of not calling other DUers names. But if the most creative insults you offer are fool and to tell me to fuck off, I'll survive.
