CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA:
Obama's 2008 campaign was famously data-driven, pioneered microtargeting in 2012, talking to people specifically based on the issues they care about.
MICHAEL SIMON:
I ran the Obama 2008 data-driven microtargeting team. How dare you! We didnt steal private Facebook profile data from voters under false pretenses. OFA voluntarily solicited opinions of hundreds of thousands of voters. We didnt commit theft to do our groundbreaking work.

(3,515 posts)Cambridge Analytica helped itself to all kinds of personal voter information that was entrusted to Facebook.
Oddly, I didn't post on Facebook and haven't been visiting even family sites there since about November 2017.
There is just something that is for me creepy about the idea of Facebook.
Putting your picture, your birthday, everything personal on a website.
This website gets as much personal information as I trust anyone with on the internet.
Either Facebook changes it ways or I never go on it again.

(6,902 posts)has always given me the creeps. I am a member, but they don't have any pictures, no birthday, no schools. They do have a few facebook friends of mine and I'm starting to wonder whether I should just stop going there.

It's even better when caught that they try the snitch route with "ge did it too" without even knowing what he did lol.
Can't wait to purge them out in Nov and 2018
