D.C. Council member Trayon White Sr. (D-Ward 8) posted the video to his official Facebook page at 7:21 a.m. as snow flurries were hitting the nations capital. The video, shot through the windshield of a car driving west on Interstate 695 through downtown Washington, shows snowy skies while White narrates.
Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man. Yall better pay attention to this climate control, man, this climate manipulation, he says. And D.C. keep talking about, We a resilient city. And thats a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.

(26,060 posts)about the blatant anti semitism in that tweet? That you obviously think we should ignore it because it came from an African American is VERY disturbing. This is a no brainer in terms of who deserves to be called out.

(17,984 posts)Someone takes you two steps backward.
He's young (33), probably heard this type of crap growing up and didn't do much critical thinking until after he posted his video. I just want reassurance that he definitely did learn his lesson. Maybe give him a history lesson in how the Rothschilds were one of the greatest philanthropic families ever.

(3,014 posts)Do you give white supremacists a pass for age and because they may have heard it growing up? Like those marching in Charlottesville? I'm kind of tired of people making excuses for antisemitism.

(22,912 posts)But he sought out and won a position of civic leadership. To warrant the trust that he asked be placed in him he can't stop now with a simple apology, no mater how heartfelt. He needs to take some active role in unearthing and countering Antisemitism. No, it doesn't suddenly have to become his core mission but a retreat into silence on the matter should no longer be a viable political option for him.
Then there is that part about believing that someone is actively manipulating the weather to harm cities, even if he were blaming the North Koreans for that instead. Bright people can get sucked up into far out conspiracy theories, I've seen that happen way too often. They aren't even always political in nature. This man needs to build more effective buffers against crap, and learn better how to fact check reality.

(55,445 posts)A year ago my best friend "discovered" the Rothschilds on Facebook too, wanting to act all smart like he's the first person in the world to piece together this bullshit conspiracy...

(101,311 posts)The stupid conspiracy theory is based on the "100 Resilient Cities" program, which is funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Nothing to do with any Rothschild. The names both start with "Ro" and are about the same length, but after that? The "founding" Rockefeller was a devout Baptist, who made the money in oil in the USA, rather than Jewish bankers in Europe.
I saw a similar thing on another forum a few weeks ago. There was some conspiracy theory that a Rockefeller (who turned out not to belong to the ultra-rich family) knew about 9/11 before it happened, which was to allow invasions of Iraq etc., implant chips in our bodies and similar BS. And this was portrayed as "this is why anti-semitism exists". Some people are told that someone rich has some evil plan, and they then just assume they're Jewish. I've seen Rupert Murdoch called Jewish, for the same reason.
I can't work out how we can cure people of this prejudice.

(52,161 posts)Taking out the antisemitism, which is a big taking out, the anti scientific, voodoo thinking is in itself disqualifying from leadership in my opinion. He really believes that a family has some sort of weather machine that they use to cause snow in DC (and VA and NC) in order to control cities. Good lord.
