Some pretty interesting data in the tables.

Question Why is health care spending in the United States so much greater than in other high-income countries?
Findings In 2016, the United States spent nearly twice as much as 10 high-income countries on medical care and performed less well on many population health outcomes. Contrary to some explanations for high spending, social spending and health care utilization in the United States did not differ substantially from other high-income nations. Prices of labor and goods, including pharmaceuticals and devices, and administrative costs appeared to be the main drivers of the differences in spending.
Meaning Efforts targeting utilization alone are unlikely to reduce the growth in health care spending in the United States; a more concerted effort to reduce prices and administrative costs is likely needed.

(51,627 posts)They need to run on their on individual district's issues specifically but as a whole party the issue of affordable health care is the biggest concern of ALL voters from all parties. The moron's voters didn't even know that the ACA was the same as Obamacare until it was about to be taken away from them.

(11,885 posts)...We let insurance companies subsidize Medicare making them pay first rather than making the insurance company pay first after paying them your entire working life. Should be the other way around. We also have a profit promoted first before care many times driving additional costs higher . We also have 24/7 drug promotion advertising we need these drugs on tv round the clock ,, and drives costs higher. Politicians like Rubio drive costs higher on Premiums like he did to premiums for the ACA in sept. 2016 right before the election, and trumps doing it now. Big pharma costs buying off Politicians also drive costs higher, along with feeding and supplying Dr. offices across the country to push their drugs for them. Wonder how much has been spent by big pharma on junkets for dr. for so called meetings in exotic places, or golf courses preferred by them, that we pay for.
