Revealed: Trump’s election consultants filmed saying they use bribes and sex workers to entrap politicians

Senior executives at Cambridge Analytica – the data company that credits itself with Donald Trump’s presidential victory – have been secretly filmed saying they could entrap politicians in compromising situations with bribes and Ukrainian sex workers.

In an undercover investigation by Channel 4 News, the company’s chief executive Alexander Nix said the British firm secretly campaigns in elections across the world. This includes operating through a web of shadowy front companies, or by using sub-contractors.

In one exchange, when asked about digging up material on political opponents, Mr Nix said they could “send some girls around to the candidate’s house”, adding that Ukrainian girls “are very beautiful, I find that works very well”.

In another he said: “We’ll offer a large amount of money to the candidate, to finance his campaign in exchange for land for instance, we’ll have the whole thing recorded, we’ll blank out the face of our guy and we post it on the Internet.”

All through the general election, many which were eagerly consumed and spread by those who claimed to be progressive.

So many times I was accused of being "a shill paid by Correct the Record!!!" - often by those who claimed to be "for HRC" once the GE began.

Emotions were clearly blocking logic, and people who were otherwise thoughtful, informed people gave credibility to anything that they thought vindicated their outrage and disappointment.

Cambridge Analytica sometimes contracts under a different name, so that there are no records of its involvement, Turnbull said. That does not only protect the company, but also makes its work more efficient, he is recorded saying.“It has to happen without anyone thinking it’s propaganda, because the moment you think ‘that’s propaganda’ the next question is: ‘Who’s put that out?’”


He added: “It may be that we have to contract under a different name ... a different entity, with a different name, so that no record exists with our name attached to this at all.”

In a recent project in eastern Europe, the company sent a team but “no one even knew they were there, they were just ghosted in, did the work, ghosted out”, Turnbull said. Covers include the setting up of fake academic projects, sometimes simply going in on tourist visas, as former employees have told the Guardian they did for US elections in violation of federal law.

I have watched just a bit, and will watch the remainder when I return home. You've watched it and are knowledgeable in this case... do you believe this expose' is tied to all the sudden republicans retiring or deciding not to run for reelection? Also, do you think the UK and US will bring law suits? I am just guessing, but I am anticipating a lengthy list of prominent republicans caught up in this.

but I thin republicans saw the writing on the wall, and that's why they are retiring. With this coming out, I think even more will.

I do think that this coming to light is a game changer, a big one.
