In light of these developments should MSNBC trade Steve Kornacki for Shepard Smith ?

Shepard Smith announces 'previously planned' vacation amid Hannity, Ingraham spat

Shep and Kornacki would be so much happier in their true habitats.

Both are openly gay.
Both well spoken.
Both intelligent.
I like Smith more. He’s calmer. More professional.
Kornacki seems manic and a little immature at times. Plus, I think his ideological leanings are actually more conservative than Smiths. As odd as that may seem seeing as where they work.

I didn't know that. I thought he recently (a couple of years ago) took time off because he had his first child, I thought with his wife. Doesn't necessarily mean he's not gay, I just hadn't heard it before.

I had always assumed this.
Thought he mentioned it on the air when he used to host what is now Morning Joy.

On edit*. I was correct.
According to Wikipedia, he came out in 2011.

Kornacki is one of MSNBC's least valuable (players) assets , Shep is one of FOX's most valuable. He lends an air of underserved credibility to FOX

Their strategy is to get rid of Shepard Smith. It is of supreme importance to attack their strategy.

They just extended his contract and Rupert Murdoch has a special place for him. Shep lends his propaganda outlet credibility.

“Shepard Smith is an exemplary journalist whose skill in anchoring breaking news is unrivaled. His powerful storytelling on both television and digital platforms has elevated our entire newsgathering process,” Murdoch said.

Can't stand him...his hyper-manic movements and rapid rate of talking with his rolled up sleeves and a marker in his mouth, make me cringe and I find myself turning off MSNBC every time they have him on....

Not sure who MSNBC thinks they are appealing to or age group....even my young adult daughter and teen daughter find him creepy.

Seriously....that is an insult to Nerds....

There is just something very unstable and unsettling about him. Maybe he is some brilliant person and I just don't see it - but he is somebody you employ behind the scenes crunching numbers....not putting him out on live TV....

He's not going anywhere

And while it's sometimes exhausting just to watch Kornacki, he knows his stuff and that's rare enough on cable news.

as an anchor, commentator, pundit or guest. They only legitimize that cesspool. The worst are the so-called liberals they bring on to argue from "the left", all the while setting them up to lose.

That said, Shep Smith is far and away the best they have and it would be better for all of us (including him) if he went elsewhere.

I like the excited nerd presentation at election time. It’s nice to see numbers crunching and politics be something to enjoy.

Sure, hire Smith. But not at the cost of a really decent guy.

Here is a Kornacki nugget of wisdom . Last night he said a damning report from Mueller would be a boon for Trump in the mid terms because it would help him rally his base. That makes no sense at all. Would it be better for the Democrats chances if Mueller exonerates him?
