It's great that Bernie talks about inequality. But...

By far the most important thing in fighting inequality (or any other issue for that matter) is voting for Ds over Rs. Always. No matter if the D is isn't perfect. Vote D.

For the most part, his audience consists of people that already are concerned about inequality. But, they are not nearly as convinced of the importance of voting for Ds. So, while its admirable that Bernie talks about inequality, it's really not a particularly effective way for him to have a positive impact. What he should focus on is convincing people who look up to him to vote for Ds, always. Because he certainly has a lot of admirers, and if anyone can turn those admirers into reliable D votes, it's Bernie himself.

A case in point is Bernie's primary campaign. Yes, he inspired millions. But did it lead to progressive change? No. Instead we had the spectacle of Bernie supporters booing Democrats at the convention. No, Bernie himself wasn't booing, he endorsed Hillary and campaigned for her. Still, the fact that many of his supporters did in fact boo, that the movement he inspired, Our Revolution, is doing things like protesting Hillary Clinton, and that some of his senior advisors (e.g. Cornel West) intentionally helped elect of Trump by attacking Hillary in the general campaign, is a pretty strong indication that Bernie is not pursuing an effective strategy for actual progressive change.

Getting people to yell about inequality is the easy part. Getting them to the polls, to vote D, is the important part. And, at the very least, Bernie is missing an opportunity to be part of the solution.

That is the ONLY way.

Everyone who doesn't focus on that is a trumpster enabler, pulling for the wrong side.

ICE is separating immigrant parents from children at the border specifically as a terror technique. It terrifies all right. Parents, and especially their children. This El Salvadoran mother is saying goodbye to her crying preschooler, 11-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, who are being taken to a separate detention camp or camps.

The real message is that the Republicans are responsible for the Iraq war. He continues to bring up a 16-year-old war, but fails to mention that the only reason Bush had a chance to start that war was because of the Nader lie that Democrats are the same as Republicans. Gore wasn't pure enough.

He also brings up a 10-year old issue -- the real estate meltdown. That never would have happened if not for Bush.

Both the 16-year old issue and the 10-year old issue were a result of a Republican President. He should be screaming from the rooftops to never trust Republicans.

He also fails to focus on the real issue of our time -- true global oligarchs are seizing our government. Why? Because people bought the divisive messaging.

You are 100% correct about his so-called messaging. If it's not about electing Democrats, then it is part of the problem, not the solution.

He just has not proven to be a great ally against Trump in this area imho.

He isn't running against R's. It's not the way our primary system works.
