Texas Democrat: Our blue wave in Texas will be like the first Star Wars

A Texas reporter on a political podcast recalled her conversation with a state Democrat official about the odds of a blue wave crashing over the state. The unnamed official said it will be much like the first Star Wars. They're getting ready to go up against the Death Star and they will consider it a win if at least a few of them get through. In other words, Beto is not like going to beat Cruz, but it will be a good night if we break through in the Texas legislature and snatch a couple of Congressional seats. It's Texas, so I would take that and run.

There are a few suburban legislative seats that are possible gains for Democrats due to both political dissatisfaction and demographic changes. However, it will be a surprise to see Texas elect a Democratic governor or senator this year.

He was sharp, well-spoken, knowledgeable energetic, funny, telegenic... Pretty much the un-Cruz.

But sooo many Republicans would vote for a pile of cow chips as long as it wasn't a Democrat, so we'll see.

Since Austin is the bluest part of a red state, what are the odds that the serial bomber is a right-wing nut that hates Austin--probably an NRA neo-Nazi type. I'd put a few bucks on it--you read it here first!

Yes, taking Cruz's seat is an uphill battle, but he hasn't turned out to be the eloquent Hispanic Great Right Hope the Republicans thought he would be. Don't count Beto out just yet!

I'm an Uber driver and I drive all over Houston and have yet to seen a Ted Cruz sign but I see lots of Beto signs. Especially in West University, Bellaire, Rice Village and Spring Branch. I know that Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio usually vote Democratic. I hope this time the city Democratic voters outnumber the rural/suburban Cruz voters.
