Is anyone else reading David Corn and Michael Isikoff's new book, Russian Roulette, about the Trump-Russian scandal? I just got it tonight, and am extremely impressed with it. I think it is a valuable read for anyone and everyone interested in restoring our constitutional democracy. That includes, of course, members of the Democratic Party.
I wish that some republicans would read it, too. Especially those elected to represent citizens, and to uphold their oath of office and protect the Constitution.
In fact, I think the federal prosecutors should have jurors read it.
What's funny is to think that Mr. Mueller is fully aware of all that is detailed in the book
..and that he knows even more.

(73,537 posts)reading it. The book definitely starts with events before the 2016 election even started. But I am aware that the authors were working on the book well after the election.

It gives him an edge.

(73,537 posts)The authors lay out how Trump was hooked by Putin & friends well before the election. Those "friends" are the same ones who "assisted" the Trump campaign. Can't wait to get home this afternoon to read more of it!

(9,983 posts)The entire idea that our constitutional process is carried out on leased machines, without oversight of the programming of these machines, is abhorrent to me! Here in "backward" NH, we are mostly on "gold standard", hand marked paper ballots - so the bad guys throw shade about "bussing in" voters. No evidence, ain't enough buses hereabouts to pull it off - but it's a distraction from the real problems, like Ohio in 00 and 04.
Left to me, we'd "machine count" the vote on Election Night, and then HAND COUNT the ballots the next day or 2 for an "official" result. Vote compilation should be open from the precinct level up, so that parties or networks can run their own national compilation.
