Swalwell: Theres a vote tomorrow to essentially shut down our #TrumpRussiaInvestigation

House Republicans are enabling Russia’s takeover of the world's greatest democracy and all we got were lousy red hats. There’s a vote tomorrow to essentially shut down our #TrumpRussiaInvestigation. We can’t let that happen.

Is is possible that it's just the HPSI probe is ending? I thought the Dems were going to continue on their own?

He said that the House Republicans will officially vote tomorrow to end the Intelligence Committee investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The House Republicans are washing their hands of their own investigation. The DOJ is supposed to be independent. We're hoping trump doesn't fire Mueller.

Even if they continued, it would only be a whitewash of the crimes committed. Which would give far too many people fuel to claim the Mueller investigation is a sham.

The House GOP not taking this seriously and it's paramount that they not be allowed to thwart the efforts of those that are.
Along those lines, shutting down the House investigation gives them leverage--or at least rhetoric to shut the other investigations down.

from doing it. Anyone who followed this fiasco knew that this was going to be the inevitable outcome. Republicans have slow walked the investigation and done everything they could to gum it up, and they're going to get the exact conclusion they planned from day one.

Why is he typing this, as if there is a possible alternative.
Is he being naive again? (Thats what he said of himself last week, thinking they would be bipartisan).

Still, it's quite likely a lot of people with be energized by his lament, and if that churns out a few more votes for Dems it's all good.

Nunes is basically a member of the administration. Mueller is our best hope, followed by winning the House and launching a real probe. Even the Senate investigation is better.
