(2,596 posts)I firmly believe that either one of those guys would have thrilled to be in this (mis)administration. Truthfully, I can't believe that they believed the campaign didn't use anything and everything in their quiver to win and the CA information would have been low-hanging fruit for Cheeto and his crime family and their lackeys.

Rich people just don't believe they live in the real world. Let's take all there properties, the bank accounts and everything that isn't alive. The only things they actually care about.

Not sure that the US Citizens thing means much ... Mercer and Bannon are US Citizens, so ... they would appear to meet that criteria.
So what is the WB saying they were warned not to do that they did? Was it just they allowed Nix to be a substantial manager of US clients, or is there more?

(14,145 posts)... to prove SCL Group (parent of Cambridge Analytica), Cambridge Analytica, Nix, Mercer, and Bannon all knew their actions were not in compliance with USA laws.
May be why this smarmy group was so eager to change their corporate name so rapidly.
(start snip)
The power players behind Cambridge Analytica have set up a new company - and the daughters of Donald Trump-supporting billionaire Robert Mercer have just joined as directors.
Rebekah and Jennifer Mercer joined Emerdata on March 16, but it is shrouded in mystery.
Alexander Nix, the suspended CEO of Cambridge Analytica, is also a director, as well as other executives from parent firm SCL Group.
Emerdata also lists Johnson Chun Shun Ko, a Chinese executive from Frontier Services Group, the military firm chaired by prominent Trump supporter Erik Prince.
Cambridge Analytica is under scrutiny for the role it played in the US election after The Observer revealed the firm had illegitimately hoovered up Facebook user data.

Or maybe Cambridge Analytica - named by Bannon who says it was a lucky idea to select that name, was actually a stolen name to steal the history of a competitor.
(snip)
There is absolutely no relationship between Cambridge Analytica and Oxford Analytica, Young said. The firm felt compelled to put out a statement earlier this week emphasizing that not only were the two companies not connected, they are involved in a legal dispute over their names.

Steve Bannon, the conservative provocateur and former executive chairman of Breitbart News, discussed the Cambridge Analytica scandal during a panel on the state of the media Thursday.
He also made another claim: "I gave it that amazing name," Bannon said at the Financial Times' Future of News Summit on Thursday. "It's a stroke of genius."

(14,145 posts)Fascist/Nazi crap. Bannon is a hot commodity for far right, white nationalist, Nazi, and Fascist political viewpoints. Putin supports this wedge issues as does Bannon - their common intent is to dismantle and ultimately destroy Democracy world wide.
Do not consider this resurgence of Fascism a joke - it is alive and well and well funded to make inroads around the world.
(snip)
In Europe it certainly feels that way. Despite some setbacks last year in France and the Netherlands, the style of nationalism that Bannon preaches and President Trump embodies has spread easily through Europe and, little by little, crept into the seats of power. Whatever his status back in Washington, the leaders of the European right still see Bannon as an inspiration and a figurehead, and they have ensured that his worldview translates well.
During his stop in Rome this weekend, elections in Italy handed a majority of the seats in parliament to parties which, like Bannon, want to tear up the Establishment, with one of the biggest winners being Matteo Salvini, who has called for a controlled ethnic cleansing of migrants from Italian towns. After lending his support to Salvinis party, The League, which got 18% of the vote, Bannon flew to Zurich and reportedly met with Alice Weidel, a leader of Alternative for Germany, the first far-right party since the Nazis to enter the German parliament, where it took more than 90 seats after elections held last fall.
Look at whats happening in Poland, in Hungary, in the Czech Republic, in Austria all countries where the far-right already holds power to varying degrees even in France and Germany, Bannon told the crowd in Zurich.
